The main reason to pick the Wunderflip is flexibility. If you're not sure whether you want a medium or firm feel, or you suspect your preference might change, the dual-sided design means you get both in one purchase, switched by removing and re-zipping the comfort layer. The memory foam layers use an open cell structure that Eve says is 5 times more breathable than standard memory foam, which means less of the heat build-up memory foam is known for. The cover's Purotex+ treatment is certified by Allergy UK, helpful if dust mites set you off. £549 upwards isn't cheap, but the 200-night trial gives you a proper stretch of time to be sure.

- Pressure-relieving memory foam (soft side). 50mm of memory foam with an open cell structure Eve says is 5 times more breathable than standard memory foam. Its 7 drill zones let the foam adapt to your body and encourage air flow, which means contouring without quite so much warmth.
- Softer foam casing. A softer foam casing on this side works alongside the softer full height springs. The result is a plusher, more squishy feel when you sleep on this face of the mattress.
- Reactive spring system. 1,000 full height springs, softer at one end and firmer at the other, each wrapped in a breathable fabric pocket. That pocketing helps prevent wobbles when you turn over, which means less partner disturbance.
- Dual spring system. A further 1,500 springs, a combination of taller pocket springs and shorter micro pocket springs. These add an extra level of responsive support beneath the foam.

Who's it NOT for?
If you already know exactly what firmness you want, you're paying for a flippable feature you may never use, and simpler mattresses cost less. There's no Single size, so it won't suit children's rooms or guest singles. And flipping involves removing and re-zipping the comfort layer, a little more effort than a straight rotate.
