Why should you choose this mattress?
The pillow top adds a layer of cushioning over the medium rating, so the surface feels softer than the rating alone suggests while the pocket springs underneath keep you supported. Wool, Himalayan allo and Kapok cotton are naturally breathable and hypoallergenic, which helps if you sleep warm or have sensitivities. Hypnos adds Triple Edge Protection and a hand side-stitched border with air vents, so you get a well-finished edge. It suits most back and side sleepers, although very light sleepers may want something softer still. Hypnos backs it with a 10-year guarantee.
Key features & layer details
Wool fleece pillow top
A blend of two British wool fleeces sits over 1500 mini Adaptiv comfort springs. It gives a cushioned, breathable surface that eases the medium feel without changing the rating.
Himalayan allo and Kapok cotton
These comfort layers are naturally breathable, hypoallergenic and let air flow. That helps keep the bed fresher and suits sleepers with sensitivities.
Natural latex layer
A generously thick sheet of natural latex sits beneath the comfort layers. It adds a supportive base to the cushioning above.
ReActivePro pocket spring core
1200 ReActivePro 6-turn pocket springs form the core. They give the mattress its underlying support, with each spring working on its own.

Best suited for?
Side sleepers
The wool fleece pillow top sits over the medium rating, so the surface feels softer than the rating suggests while the pocket springs keep you supported.
Back sleepers
Medium firmness with 1200 pocket springs in the core gives underlying support, while the pillow top adds a cushioned surface without making the bed feel soft.
Warm sleepers
Wool, Himalayan allo and Kapok cotton are naturally breathable and let air flow, which helps keep the bed fresher if you tend to sleep hot.
Allergy sufferers
Himalayan allo, Kapok cotton and wool are naturally hypoallergenic comfort layers, which suits anyone with sensitivities who wants a natural-fibre fill.
If you prefer sleeping on a firm mattress, this might not be the best choice. It's rated medium, and the pillow top adds more cushioning on the surface. It's single-sided, so you can't flip it, and at 31cm deep it may sit high on some bed frames. The latex and springs also make it heavy to move.
Save on an earlier or ex-display model
Some retailers still sell the earlier version of this mattress, or ex-display and returned stock at a lower price. These are the sizes where it costs less than the current model's best price.

FAQ's
How firm is the Hypnos Fairford Pillowtop Supreme?
Hypnos rates it medium. The wool fleece pillow top adds cushioning, so the surface feels a little softer than the rating suggests. It suits most sleepers, though anyone wanting firm support may find it too forgiving.
What sizes does the Hypnos Fairford Pillowtop Supreme come in?
It comes in a UK single, UK small double, UK double, UK king, UK super king and UK emperor, plus an EU double and EU king. Mattress Online lists the two EU sizes as discontinued, so check availability before choosing.
How deep is the Hypnos Fairford Pillowtop Supreme?
It's 31cm deep. That's a generous depth, so check your bed frame and fitted sheets will cope with it before you buy.
What is the Hypnos Fairford Pillowtop Supreme made of?
From the top, it has British wool fleece over 1500 mini springs, Himalayan allo and Kapok cotton comfort layers, a natural latex layer and 1200 ReActivePro pocket springs. The wool is Responsible Wool Standard certified.
Does the Hypnos Fairford Pillowtop Supreme come with a trial or guarantee?
Hypnos gives a 10-year guarantee. Mattress Online offers its own 100-night comfort trial, which requires buying a mattress protector from them. That trial is the retailer's offer, not Hypnos's.
