Why should you choose this mattress?
If you want a properly firm bed, this delivers one without feeling harsh on top. The EternityFibre layer adds cushioning to the surface, while the AlignSupport coils underneath provide the firm support. The UniCased edge support system is there to give you a more dependable edge. The cover is endorsed by Allergy UK, which is useful if allergens bother you. It's handmade in the UK and uses plant-based foam. It suits most back and front sleepers, although the surface cushioning is modest, so lighter side sleepers may still find it unyielding.
Key features & layer details
EternityFibre
A plush fibre comfort layer that Sealy says adds cushioning and a softer surface. It gives the top of this extra-firm mattress a little more comfort.
INFUSE Eco ComfortCore
A plant-based foam that forms part of the mattress. Sealy doesn't state where it sits in the build, but it adds a plant-based material to the construction.
AlignSupport coils
Patented coils that form the base of the mattress. They provide the firm, supportive feel this mattress is rated for.
Layer details from dreams.co.uk product page, November 2026.
Best suited for?
Back sleepers
The extra firm rating and AlignSupport coils at the base give a very firm, supportive feel, which suits anyone who likes to lie flat on their back.
Front sleepers
Firm AlignSupport coils beneath a thin EternityFibre layer mean the surface stays flat and unyielding, which suits those who sleep face down.
Allergy sufferers
The cover is endorsed by Allergy UK, which gives buyers who are bothered by allergens a sleep surface with recognised backing.
Eco-conscious buyers
It uses plant-based foam and is handmade in the UK, so it suits shoppers who want a more considered choice of materials and origin.
If you prefer sleeping on a soft or medium mattress, this might not be the best choice. It's rated extra firm, and the fibre layer only takes the edge off the surface. Lighter side sleepers who need plenty of give at the shoulders and hips may find it too firm. It can't be flipped, either.
Save on an earlier or ex-display model
Some retailers still sell the earlier version of this mattress, or ex-display and returned stock at a lower price. These are the sizes where it costs less than the current model's best price.

FAQ's
How firm is the Sealy PosturePedic Gladesville Combination Mattress?
Sealy's retailer page grades it very firm and describes an extra-firm feel. It suits sleepers who want a very supportive bed, although the plush top layer takes a little of the edge off the surface.
What sizes does the Sealy PosturePedic Gladesville Combination Mattress come in?
It comes in a UK single, UK double, UK king and UK super king. Dreams also lists a Euro single, but the four UK sizes are the ones to compare here.
How deep is the Sealy PosturePedic Gladesville Combination Mattress?
It's 27cm deep. That's a fairly standard depth, so it should sit comfortably on most bed frames, though check your frame's mattress recess if it has a deep one.
Is the Sealy PosturePedic Gladesville Combination Mattress good for allergy sufferers?
The SmarTex Plus and ProShield cover is endorsed by Allergy UK, which is a good sign if allergens are a concern. Sealy doesn't make medical claims for it, so treat it as a sensible extra rather than a guarantee.
Does the Sealy PosturePedic Gladesville Combination Mattress come with a trial?
Dreams offers a 100-night comfort trial on it. That's the retailer's own offer rather than Sealy's, so check Dreams' terms before you buy.
