Why should you choose this mattress?
The springs are pocketed, so each one moves individually and gives responsive support as your child shifts about in the night. The EcoComfort Fibres, made from recycled plastic, help air flow through the mattress, which suits children who get warm. It's foam-free and chemical-free, and the waterproof cover copes with everyday spills, which is handy for younger children. The hypoallergenic properties are a sensible extra if allergens are a worry. Overall it suits most children who need a firm bed, although it won't feel plush.

Best suited for?
Children
Made specifically for kids, this mattress has a firm feel and a waterproof cover that copes with everyday spills, which suits younger children.
Warm sleepers
EcoComfort Fibres, made from recycled plastic, let air flow through the mattress, which helps keep the sleeping surface comfortable for children who get warm.
Allergy sufferers
Hypoallergenic properties and a foam-free, chemical-free build make this a sensible pick where allergens are a worry in a child's bedroom.
Eco-conscious buyers
The comfort layer uses EcoComfort Fibres made from recycled plastic, and the whole mattress is foam-free and chemical-free, which appeals if you want a greener choice.
If your child prefers a soft, cushioned feel, this might not be the best choice. It's rated firm, and there's no foam or pillow top to soften the surface. It also comes in a UK single only, so it won't work for a larger bed. It can't be flipped either.
Save on an earlier or ex-display model
Some retailers still sell the earlier version of this mattress, or ex-display and returned stock at a lower price. These are the sizes where it costs less than the current model's best price.

What size does the Silentnight Brave Pocket Sprung Kids' Mattress come in?
It comes in a UK single only, measuring 90 x 190cm. If your child needs a different size, you'll need to choose another mattress, so check the bed frame before you buy.
How deep is the Silentnight Brave Pocket Sprung Kids' Mattress?
It's 22cm deep. That's worth checking against your child's bed frame, particularly if the frame has low sides.
Is the Silentnight Brave Pocket Sprung Kids' Mattress waterproof?
Yes, it's waterproof for everyday spills, so it copes with the odd accident. That makes it practical for younger children, although it's designed for everyday spills rather than anything heavier.
Does the Silentnight Brave Pocket Sprung Kids' Mattress come with a trial or guarantee?
Dreams offers a 100-night comfort trial, which is the retailer's own offer. Silentnight also gives a 5-year guarantee on the mattress.
