Silentnight Newbury 1000 Pocket Eco Pillow Top Aloe Vera Mattress

Assessed from the specification published by dreams.co.uk, captured November 2026, and from regular price comparison across our UK retail partners.

The main draw is a firm, solid feel with a touch of comfort on top. The pillow top can make the surface feel a little softer than the firm rating suggests, without changing the support underneath. Individually wrapped Mirapocket springs come with motion isolation, which should mean less disturbance if your partner moves. Zoned support is there to give firmer backing where your body needs it. Breathable comfort fibres and the aloe vera infused quilted surface are aimed at hot sleepers who like a firm mattress. Suits most back sleepers and anyone who dislikes sinking in, although side sleepers may want more give.

Back sleepers
The firm rating and zoned support give firmer backing where the body needs it, which suits anyone who likes a solid, flat feel.

Warm sleepers
Breathable comfort fibres and an aloe vera infused quilted surface are aimed at hot sleepers, so you get a firm feel without it being stuffy.

Couples
Individually wrapped Mirapocket springs isolate motion, which means you should notice less disturbance when your partner moves, and the five sizes up to super king leave room.

Combination sleepers
A firm base with a pillow top that softens the surface slightly gives a supportive feel when you change position, without the sinking in of softer beds.

If you prefer sleeping on a soft or medium mattress, this might not be the best choice. It's rated firm, and the pillow top only softens the surface a little. Lighter side sleepers may find it hard at the shoulders and hips. Silentnight doesn't publish a spring count or a layer breakdown, so you can't judge the build in detail.

How firm is the Silentnight Newbury 1000 Pocket Eco Pillow Top Aloe Vera?

It's firm, described as solid support for people who like a firm feel. The pillow top adds a little surface cushioning, but the rating stays firm, so lighter side sleepers may find it too hard.

What sizes does the Silentnight Newbury 1000 come in?

It comes in a UK single, UK small double, UK double, UK king and UK super king. It isn't offered in a UK small single, so check your bed frame size before choosing.

How deep is the Silentnight Newbury 1000?

It's 27cm deep. That is a fairly standard height for a pillow top pocket spring mattress, but check that your fitted sheets will cope with that depth before you buy.

Is the Silentnight Newbury 1000 good for couples?

Probably, as it has individually wrapped Mirapocket springs and is described as having motion isolation, so movement should travel less across the bed. The firm feel needs to suit you both, though.

Does the Silentnight Newbury 1000 come with a trial?

Dreams offers a 100-night comfort trial on it. That's the retailer's own offer rather than Silentnight's, so check Dreams' terms before buying.
