Why should you choose this mattress?
The open coil springs spread your child's weight evenly, which gives full body support as they grow into their bed. The waterproof cover handles everyday spills, so bedtime drinks and small accidents are less of a worry. It's also foam-free, chemical-free and hypoallergenic. The comfort layer uses EcoComfort Fibres made from recycled plastic, so it's a sensible pick if materials matter to you. A medium feel suits most children, although a very light sleeper may notice little cushioning.
Key features & layer details
EcoComfort Fibre layer
A lightweight layer of EcoComfort Fibre, made from recycled plastic, sits at the top for comfort. It gives your child a softer feel over the springs without using foam.
Open coil spring layer
Durable open coil springs spread your child's weight evenly. That gives full body support and a traditional springy feel.

Best suited for?
Children
Made for children aged 3 and over, it has open coil springs that spread weight evenly, giving full body support as they grow into their bed.
Allergy sufferers
The foam-free, chemical-free and hypoallergenic build, with a fibre comfort layer over open coil springs, suits anyone who wants to avoid foam materials.
Eco-conscious buyers
The comfort layer uses EcoComfort Fibres made from recycled plastic, so the top of the mattress is filled without any foam.
Budget buyers
Sitting in the affordable price range, it still includes a waterproof cover, a quilted surface and a 5-year guarantee from Silentnight.
If you want a mattress with deep cushioning or foam contouring, this might not be the best choice. It has one fibre comfort layer over open coil springs, and it's rated medium. It's also made for children aged 3 and over, so it isn't meant for toddlers. It's single-sided, so it can't be flipped, and it comes in a UK single only.
Save on an earlier or ex-display model
Some retailers still sell the earlier version of this mattress, or ex-display and returned stock at a lower price. These are the sizes where it costs less than the current model's best price.

FAQ's
How firm is the Silentnight Play Traditional Spring Kids' Mattress?
It's rated medium, so it sits in the middle of the firmness scale. That suits most children, as the fibre layer adds comfort over supportive springs. It may feel a little firm if your child likes a very plush surface.
What size does the Silentnight Play Traditional Spring Kids' Mattress come in?
It comes in a UK single only, which measures 90 x 190cm. If your child's bed needs a different size, this mattress won't fit it, so check your frame's dimensions first.
How deep is the Silentnight Play Traditional Spring Kids' Mattress?
It's 19cm deep. That should suit most children's beds, but check the depth limit on any bed frame or bunk before you buy.
Is the Silentnight Play Traditional Spring Kids' Mattress waterproof?
Yes, it's waterproof for everyday spills, and the sleep surface is fully quilted. That makes small accidents easier to deal with, although it's described as protection for everyday spills rather than anything heavier.
Does the Silentnight Play Traditional Spring Kids' Mattress come with a trial or guarantee?
Silentnight gives a 5-year guarantee, and Dreams offers a 100-night trial. The trial is Dreams' own offer, so check its terms before you buy.
