Silentnight SleepResponse Support 1400 Pocket Sprung Mattress

Assessed from the specification published by dreams.co.uk, captured November 2026, and from regular price comparison across our UK retail partners.

The main draw is firm support. The 1400 pocket springs each sit in their own fabric pocket and work independently, and Silentnight describes the support as zoned, so different areas of your body are held in different ways. The thin memory foam layer is badged as pressure relieving, and the stitched pillow top adds some softness at the surface without changing the firm rating. The cover is infused with aloe vera. It should suit back sleepers and anyone who likes a firm bed, although side sleepers who want deep cushioning may find it too firm.

Back sleepers
The firm rating and zoned Mirapocket support hold different areas of your body in different ways, which suits a flatter, more supported feel when lying on your back.

Couples
Each of the 1400 pocket springs sits in its own fabric pocket and works independently, so one person's movement is less likely to travel across the bed.

Combination sleepers
Independent pocket springs respond to whichever part of your body is pressing down, which helps when you change position and the firm feel stays consistent.

Heavier sleepers
A firm rating with 39cm of depth and a pocket spring unit gives a supportive base that is less likely to feel too yielding under more weight.

If you prefer sleeping on a soft or medium mattress, this might not be the best choice. It's rated firm, and the memory foam layer is thin, so there's limited cushioning under your shoulders and hips. Lighter side sleepers are the most likely to find it too unyielding. It also isn't a bed-in-a-box, so expect a conventional mattress delivery.

How firm is the Silentnight SleepResponse Support 1400?

It's rated firm. The stitched pillow top adds a little softness to the surface, but the overall feel stays firm. Anyone who prefers a medium or soft mattress will probably be more comfortable elsewhere.

What sizes does the Silentnight SleepResponse Support 1400 come in?

It comes in a UK single, UK small double, UK double, UK king and UK super king. Silentnight doesn't list a UK small single in the sizes published for this mattress.

How deep is the Silentnight SleepResponse Support 1400?

It's 39cm deep, according to the Dreams product page. That's a fairly tall mattress, so check your bed frame and bedding depth if you're replacing a much slimmer one.

What is the Silentnight SleepResponse Support 1400 made of?

It has 1400 Mirapocket pocket springs, a thin memory foam comfort layer, and a stitched pillow top with an aloe vera-infused knit cover. Each spring sits in its own fabric pocket and works independently.

Does the Silentnight SleepResponse Support 1400 come with a trial?

Dreams offers a 100-night comfort guarantee. It's an exchange rather than a refund, available between 30 and 100 nights, and conditions apply, including using a mattress protector from day one.
