Why should you choose this mattress?
The 2cm soft foam pillow top gives the surface a plush, cushioned feel, which suits you if you like to sink in a little. Beneath it, a 3cm CoolGel foam layer is there to slow heat build-up, so it's a sensible pick if you tend to sleep warm. The two-tier spring core pairs 800 pocket springs with 1200 mini springs, so the support underneath is responsive and shaped to your body. It suits most side sleepers and lighter sleepers, although heavier sleepers may find the surface gives more than they'd like. A non-slip underside helps it stay put on the base.
Key features & layer details
Pillow-top layer
A 2cm layer of soft foam in a quilted pillow-top cover. It gives the surface a plush, cushioned feel, so the mattress feels softer on top than the medium soft rating alone suggests.
CoolGel layer
A 3cm layer of CoolGel foam that SleepSoul says slows down heat build-up in the mattress. That should help you stay more comfortable through the night if you tend to sleep warm.
Mini pocket springs
An extra layer of 1200 mini pocket springs. They add comfort and support just beneath the foam, so the surface responds to your body more closely.
Pocket spring base
800 pocket springs that SleepSoul says conform to your body's shape. They support you where you need it most and form the main support in the mattress.

Best suited for?
Side sleepers
The medium soft feel and 2cm soft foam pillow top give a cushioned surface, so shoulders and hips can sink in a little.
Lighter sleepers
Lighter sleepers are less likely to find the surface too yielding, so the plush pillow top and responsive mini springs feel comfortably cushioned.
Warm sleepers
A 3cm CoolGel foam layer sits under the pillow top and is there to slow heat build-up, which helps if you tend to sleep warm.
Budget buyers
Described as affordable, it still packs in four layers and a 30cm depth, plus a 10-year guarantee and a 60-night trial.
If you prefer sleeping on a firm mattress, this might not be the best choice. SleepSoul rates it medium soft, and the pillow top adds extra cushioning. Back and front sleepers who need firmer support may find it too forgiving. It's also single-sided, so you can rotate it each season but not flip it.
Save on an earlier or ex-display model
Some retailers still sell the earlier version of this mattress, or ex-display and returned stock at a lower price. These are the sizes where it costs less than the current model's best price.
