Sophie Conran Solace Pocket Wool Mattress

Assessed from Sophie Conran's published specification for this mattress, captured November 2026, and from regular price comparison across our UK retail partners.

The wool layer is there to help regulate temperature, and the breathable cotton layers wick away moisture, so this is a sensible pick if you tend to wake up too warm. It uses individually wrapped pocket and micro springs. The double-sided, hand-tufted design can be flipped season to season, which lets you spread the wear across both sides. It suits sleepers who like natural materials, although with no firmness published you can't know how it will feel before trying it. Dreams' 100-night trial gives you time to find out.

Warm sleepers
A natural British wool layer helps regulate temperature, and breathable cotton layers wick away moisture, which means you should be less likely to wake up too warm.

Eco-conscious buyers
Natural British wool and cotton layers make up the comfort side of this mattress, which gives you a more natural sleep surface than a mostly synthetic build.

Couples
Individually wrapped pocket and micro springs, plus UK double, king and super king sizes, give two people room to share and a choice of widths.

Combination sleepers
Individually wrapped pocket and micro springs move independently, so the surface can respond as you shift position through the night, with a 100-night trial to check the feel.

If you need to know the firmness before you buy, this might not be the best choice, as Sophie Conran doesn't publish one. Depth isn't published either, so check it fits your bed frame. You can flip it season to season, but if turning a mattress is difficult for you, you won't get that benefit. It's a premium purchase too.

How firm is the Sophie Conran Solace Pocket Wool Mattress?

Sophie Conran doesn't publish a firmness rating for this mattress. Because you can't judge the feel from the specification alone, the trial period is worth using to check it suits your sleeping position.

What sizes does the Sophie Conran Solace Pocket Wool Mattress come in?

It comes in a UK single, UK small double, UK double, UK king and UK super king. A UK small single isn't offered, so very narrow bed frames will need a different mattress.

Can you flip the Sophie Conran Solace Pocket Wool Mattress?

Yes. It's double-sided with hand tufting on each side, and it's designed to be flipped season to season. That helps spread wear, though you'll need to be able to turn it.

Is the Sophie Conran Solace Pocket Wool Mattress good for hot sleepers?

It should suit warm sleepers fairly well. A natural British wool layer helps regulate temperature, and breathable cotton layers wick away moisture. How cool it feels will still vary from person to person.

Is there a trial for the Sophie Conran Solace Pocket Wool Mattress?

Dreams offers a 100-night trial on this mattress. It is Dreams' own offer rather than a Sophie Conran term, so check Dreams' conditions on returns before you order.
