Assessed from Panda's published specification for this mattress, captured September 2026, and from regular price comparison across our UK retail partners.
Panda leans into breathability. The BioCell Foam is an open-cell memory foam infused with bamboo, which means heat escapes rather than building up, a genuine plus if you sleep warm. The encapsulated springs minimise motion transfer, so a restless partner is less likely to wake you. There are thoughtful touches too: an anti-slip base layer, four handles for rotating, and a cover with an inner durability layer made from recycled ocean bottles. Certifications are reassuring, including Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX and CertiPUR. Delivery is generous, with free room of choice delivery and free old mattress removal, plus free returns within the 100-night trial. The top end of the price range is not cheap, but the spec justifies it.
Key Features & what's inside
- Bamboo Cover. A waterfall cover made with organically-grown bamboo, which is hypoallergenic and naturally antibacterial. Helpful if you're prone to allergies or want a fresher-feeling sleep surface.
- BioCell Foam™. Open-cell memory foam infused with fresh bamboo, designed to be odour-resistant and highly breathable. The open-cell structure means heat can move through the foam rather than sitting under you.
- DualFlex Foam™. A dual layer combining orthopaedic-grade and highly resilient memory foam. This gives the mattress its supportive, medium-firm character while still cushioning pressure points.
- Encapsulated Springs. Up to 960 individually encapsulated pocket springs support your body while minimising motion transfer. In practice, that means less disturbance when a partner turns over.
- Comfort Base. High-resilience memory foam forms the base, absorbing excess movement and distributing body weight. It gives the springs a stable foundation to work from.
- Anti-slip Layer. An anti-slip layer keeps the mattress firmly in place on your bed base. Four discreet handles make lifting and rotating easier, which is a chore on any 25cm mattress.

Who's it NOT for?
If you prefer a soft, sink-in feel, look elsewhere: Panda's own page describes the feel as medium firm to firm, and lightweight side sleepers in particular may find it too solid. It's also foam-forward, so if you dislike the hug of memory foam a traditional sprung mattress may suit you better.
Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress
How firm is the Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress?
Panda describes it as medium-firm support for all sleeping positions, though its materials section notes the feel runs medium firm to firm. Panda's FAQ places it at 6.5 on the mattress firmness scale. In short, expect a supportive feel rather than a soft one.
Does the Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress come with a trial?
Yes. Panda offers a 100-night trial with free returns, so you can sleep on it at home before committing. It's also covered by a 10-year guarantee.
Is the Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress good for hot sleepers?
It's built with heat in mind. The bamboo-infused BioCell Foam uses an open-cell structure that Panda says is highly breathable, and the bamboo cover adds a naturally cool-feeling surface. No mattress guarantees a cool night, but the design works in your favour here.
How deep is the Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress?
It's 25cm deep, built from six layers: a bamboo cover, two memory foam layers, encapsulated pocket springs, a memory foam comfort base and an anti-slip layer. Check your fitted sheets accommodate that depth.
What sizes does the Panda Hybrid Bamboo Mattress come in?
Nine sizes: UK Single, Small Double, Double, King, Super King and Emperor, plus EU Single, Double and King. Prices range from £506 to £999 depending on the size you choose.
