Choose the Baronet Superb if you want traditional craftsmanship with no synthetic foams. The fillings are horsehair, bonded British fleece wool and cotton, natural fibres that breathe well, which means less heat build-up overnight if you tend to sleep warm. The hand-nested calico springs are sewn into individual pockets, so you feel supported where you press down and less disturbance from a partner's movement. The Firm tension suits back and front sleepers who like a supportive, less yielding feel, although lightweight side sleepers may find it a little too unyielding at the shoulder and hip. Yes, the price is high, but the materials and hand construction go some way to justifying it.
Key Features & what's inside
- Upholstery - Top Layer. Crafted exclusively from natural fillings: horsehair, bonded British fleece wool and cotton. These fibres breathe naturally, which means better temperature regulation than synthetic foam layers.
- Upholstery - Middle Layer. A blended British fleece wool and cotton layer. This sits between you and the springs, adding a softer transition so you feel cushioning before the firm support beneath.
- Spring System. Hand-nested calico pocket spring construction with 1,326 vanadium steel pocket springs in a single layer. Each spring works independently, which means support tailored to your shape and less motion transfer across the bed.

Who's it NOT for?
If you're on a tight budget, this isn't your mattress: it starts at £2,699. It's also only made in UK King and Super King, so smaller rooms are out. Lightweight side sleepers may find the Firm tension too hard, and anyone wanting memory foam contouring should look elsewhere, as there's no foam here at all.

How firm is the Vispring Baronet Superb?
This version is a Firm mattress, suiting sleepers who prefer solid support over a sinking feel. Vispring's own page shows the model is also made in Soft, Medium and Extra Firm tensions, so check which tension you're buying if firm isn't right for you.
What is the Vispring Baronet Superb made of?
Entirely natural fillings: horsehair, bonded British fleece wool and cotton, over 1,326 hand-nested vanadium steel pocket springs in calico pockets. There's no foam anywhere in the build, which means better breathability and a more traditional feel than most modern mattresses.
How deep is the Vispring Baronet Superb mattress?
The mattress is 21cm deep, plus around 6cm of doming from the natural fillings, with a variation of plus or minus 2cm. That's shallower than many modern hybrids, so deep fitted sheets may be looser than you're used to.
What sizes does the Vispring Baronet Superb come in?
It's available in UK King and UK Super King, priced from £2,699 to £3,399. Smaller sizes such as Single and Double aren't listed, so it's limited if you need a compact option.
Does the Vispring Baronet Superb come with a trial or guarantee?
Vispring's product page doesn't mention a trial period, guarantee length or delivery terms. Check directly with the retailer you buy from, as any trial or guarantee will depend on their own policies.
