- Gel Foam. A soft 2.5cm gel pad that is inherently cooler than traditional memory foam, with an open cell structure allowing increased airflow. In practice, that means a comfortable surface that's less likely to leave you overheating at night.
- Soft White Fibres. Soft synthetic fillings that add a cushioned, comfortable feel between you and the springs. They're also incredibly durable, which helps the mattress keep its shape over time.
- Pocket Springs. 2000 pocket springs, each encased in its own fabric pocket so it can react independently of its neighbours. You'll feel this as support that follows your body's shape rather than the whole bed moving as one.

- Fits a child's room with space to spare: At 3ft wide, it leaves room for a wardrobe, a desk and toy storage in bedrooms where every bit of floor counts.
- Cooler for warm little sleepers: The gel foam layer's open cell structure lets heat escape, which matters for children and teens who kick the duvet off by midnight.
- Medium firm support for growing bodies: The 2000 independent pocket springs follow the sleeper's shape, giving teens and single adults support without a hard, unyielding surface.
- An easy guest bed: In a spare room that doubles as an office, a UK single keeps the desk usable while still offering guests a proper hybrid to sleep on.
- Cheap, easy bedding: Standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet fit, and both are the most widely stocked bedding of any UK size.
This size suits you if...
You're kitting out a child's or teenager's room and want a mattress that will cope with a warm sleeper, you sleep alone and would rather keep floor space than fill the room with bed, or you need a spare room bed that shares the space with a desk. It also suits two singles in a guest room where couples and solo visitors both stay.
Consider another size if...
You share the bed regularly, or you're a single adult who finds 90cm restless. The UK small double is 30cm wider than the UK single at the same length, and we'd recommend it instead; allow at least 2.4m x 2.8m of floor space.

How big is the Bodyshape Gel 2000 in a UK single?
It measures 90 x 190cm, which is 3ft x 6ft 3in. That's the standard UK one-person size, so any single frame, single fitted sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet will fit. We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space so you can walk around the bed comfortably.
Is the Bodyshape Gel 2000 UK single suitable for a bunk or mid sleeper?
The 90 x 190cm footprint matches standard UK bunk and mid sleeper frames. The catch is depth: at 26cm this is a reasonably tall hybrid, and raised frames often specify a maximum mattress depth so the guard rail stays high enough. Check your frame's stated limit before buying, particularly for a top bunk.
Is a UK single Bodyshape Gel 2000 a good choice for a child or teenager?
It's a sensible fit. The medium firm feel gives growing bodies proper spring support rather than a saggy foam surface, and the gel layer helps warm sleepers stay comfortable. Lighter children may find it slightly firmer than an adult would, which is generally the safer direction for a kids' mattress.
Should I get the Bodyshape Gel 2000 in a single or a small double?
The UK single is 30cm narrower than the UK small double, and the two are the same length. If the sleeper is a child, a teen or an adult happy with 90cm, the UK single saves space. Restless solo adults often prefer the UK small double; allow at least 2.4m x 2.8m of floor space for it.
