- 75cm each for two sharing: Two people get 75cm of width apiece, so you can change position without brushing elbows or negotiating for space.
- The full 1,200 spring count: The brand quotes its 1,200 pocket springs for the king size, so this page describes the mattress exactly as specified rather than a scaled-down version.
- Less disturbance across a wider bed: Independent pocket springs plus the extra width mean an early alarm on one side is far less likely to wake the other.
- 200cm of length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which keeps feet on the mattress if either of you is approaching six foot.
- Cooler cotton over a bigger surface: The cotton and chenille cover breathes well, and the wider sleep surface gives warm sleepers room to find a cooler patch.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double no longer feels like enough, especially if one of you gets up hours before the other and the slightest movement carries. It also makes sense if either partner is tall, since the 200cm length stops feet hanging off the end, or if a dog has quietly become a permanent third occupant taking more than its share.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. In either case the UK double would suit you better, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for that size.

How big is the Cotton Pocket 1200 Chenille in a UK king?
The UK king measures 150 x 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in. That works out at 75cm of width each for two people sharing, and the 200cm length gives taller sleepers usefully more room than the 190cm of a UK double.
Does the Cotton Pocket 1200 king have the full 1,200 springs?
Yes. British Bed Company quotes the 1,200 pocket spring count specifically for the king size, so in this size you get exactly the spring count the mattress is named for, spread across the full 150cm width.
Is the UK king Cotton Pocket 1200 good for couples on different schedules?
It is well suited to that. Pocket springs compress independently, so one person getting up early transfers little movement, and the 75cm of width each means you are less likely to be lying close enough to feel it anyway.
What room size do I need for this mattress in a UK king?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable. That allows walking space on both sides and room for wardrobes. Measure a new build master carefully; they often feel smaller once furniture is in.
Should I choose the king or the super king in this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, and we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m of room for it. If your room can take it and you want maximum space, size up; otherwise the UK king suits most couples. Compare the retailers listed on this page for current pricing on both.
