- Room to sleep, not negotiate: At 75cm each for two people sharing, you can both stretch out without a nightly territory dispute.
- Pocket springs where width helps: Independent springs already limit motion transfer, and the UK king's extra width puts more distance between you, so a restless partner disturbs you less.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which is the difference between feet on the mattress and feet off it.
- Works with early starts: If one of you gets up hours before the other, the combination of space and independent springs makes those exits quieter for the sleeper left behind.
- Familiar bedding sizes: The UK king takes standard king sheets and a 230 x 220cm king duvet, both widely stocked, so re-dressing the bed is straightforward.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double now feels tight, one of you is approaching six foot and wants that extra length, or your sleep schedules differ and you need the width and pocket springs to keep early alarms from waking the later riser.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. In either case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Heritage 5000 in a UK king big enough for a couple?
Yes, comfortably for most. The UK king gives 75cm each for two people sharing, and the medium firm pocket spring build suits couples because the springs compress independently under each sleeper. If one of you is very broad-shouldered or you share with a dog who claims a corner, the UK super king is the roomier option.
Will the UK king Heritage 5000 fit my bedroom?
The mattress itself is 150 x 200cm, or 5ft x 6ft 6in. We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m so you can walk round the bed and open drawers. New build master bedrooms can be deceptive: measure with the wardrobes in place before you commit, not from the floor plan.
Should a tall sleeper choose the UK king Heritage 5000?
The length is the strongest argument. At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which for anyone nearing six foot means heels resting on the mattress rather than hanging off it. The UK super king is the same length, so size up only if you want extra width, not extra length.
Does the UK king reduce partner disturbance on this mattress?
It helps in two ways. Pocket springs move independently, so a partner shifting position sends less movement across the bed, and the UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, putting more mattress between you. Couples on different schedules, where one leaves for work hours earlier, tend to feel that difference most.
