Soft damask cover
A soft woven damask cover that promotes breathability, which means heat can escape rather than build up around you. The patterned finish gives it a traditional look.
25mm memory foam layer
A 25mm layer of body-moulding memory foam sits above the springs, with small holes that seep out air under pressure. In practice, that means the foam moves with the contours of your body rather than trapping you in one spot.
1000 pocket spring unit
1000 independently moving pocket springs respond to your movement individually. That helps prevent roll-together, so a partner shifting position is less likely to disturb you.

- Fits where space is tight: At 90cm wide it leaves room for a wardrobe, desk and floor space in a compact bedroom, and we suggest as little as 2.1m x 2.8m.
- Full spring count in a small size: The 1000 independent pocket springs support one sleeper across the whole 90cm width, which means even a restless teenager gets consistent support edge to edge.
- Gentle enough for growing sleepers: The 25mm memory foam layer and medium tension suit lighter bodies, which means children and teens sink in slightly rather than lying on top of a hard surface.
- Sensible for guest and spare rooms: In a study that doubles as guest space, a UK single keeps the desk usable while still giving visitors a proper hybrid to sleep on.
- Easy to handle solo: Border handles and the smaller UK single footprint make rotating this one-sided mattress a one-person job, useful in a student room or first flat.
This size suits you if...
You're kitting out a child's or teenager's room where the bed shares floor space with a desk and toy storage, you need a comfortable mattress for a spare room that also works as an office, or you sleep alone and want memory foam comfort in the smallest standard adult size.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who spreads out at night, or two of you will ever share the bed. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which is 45cm wider and the same length; allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m of floor space.

What are the dimensions of the Memory Pocket Deluxe 1000 UK single?
It measures 90 x 190cm, which is 3ft x 6ft 3in. That's the standard UK single size, so it fits standard single bed frames, and standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet will fit it without adjustment.
Will the UK single fit a bunk bed or mid sleeper?
The width and length match standard bunk and mid-sleeper frames, but this mattress is 26cm deep, which is on the taller side for a raised bed. Check the frame's maximum mattress depth and guardrail height before buying, particularly for a top bunk, where a deep mattress can leave the rail too low to be safe.
Is the UK single Memory Pocket Deluxe 1000 suitable for a child?
Yes, with one caveat. The medium tension and 25mm memory foam layer give lighter sleepers gentle contouring, and the hypoallergenic polyester fillings help if your child is sensitive to allergens. Very young children generally do better on a firmer surface, so it suits older children and teenagers more than toddlers moving up from a cot.
How much room do you need for a UK single mattress?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which leaves enough clearance to walk round the bed and open drawers or wardrobe doors. That makes the UK single a realistic fit for box rooms, loft conversions with a narrow usable strip under the slope, and children's rooms where a desk needs to fit too.
Where can I buy this mattress in a UK single?
British Bed Company is a house brand sold through Mattressman, so availability is narrower than for mainstream brands. Compare the retailers listed on this page: the prices shown here are updated as retailers change them, so what you see reflects current stock rather than a snapshot.
