Layer Details
Knitted Cover
A soft knitted cover that breathes well, which means heat can escape rather than build up around you. It helps keep you at an even temperature all night.
Reflex Foam
A soft layer of Reflex Foam that contours to the shape of your body, which means personalised support and pressure relief where you need it. It gives a comfortable surface without undermining the firm feel beneath.
Pocket Springs
Individual pocket springs work independently, reacting to changes in your weight and movement. In practice that means responsive support at your pressure points and less motion transfer across the bed.
Layer details from mattressnextday.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Distance beats any comfort layer: With 90cm each for two people sharing, a fidgety partner is simply further away, and often that alone fixes broken sleep.
- Pocket springs keep movement local: The springs react independently to weight and movement, so when someone turns over at 3am, the far side of this very wide bed barely registers it.
- Room for the whole household: When a child pads through at night, or the dog treats the bed as routine, the extra width means the adults still keep a proper share.
- A firm surface across the full width: The extra firm feel stays consistent edge to edge, useful when one sleeper ends up pushed towards the side by a small visitor.
- Sized for larger rooms: We suggest allowing at least 3m x 2.9m, which lets you walk round the bed and open drawers without shuffling sideways.
This size suits you if...
You share every night and want the most space a standard UK size offers, you sleep next to a genuinely restless partner, or your children and pets regularly join you and the family needs the width. It also suits a large master bedroom or period property where a smaller bed would look lost against the wall.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom measures less than the 3m x 2.9m we suggest, or you rarely share the bed. The UK king would suit you better: it is 30cm narrower but the same length, and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Will a super king Coolflex Lux Ortho Pocket fit in my bedroom?
The mattress itself is 180 x 200cm, but the bed needs breathing room. We suggest a bedroom of at least 3m x 2.9m so you can walk around both sides and still open wardrobe doors. In a loft conversion, check the slope too, as it often decides which wall the bed can sit against.
Is the super king worth it over the king for this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length. If you share with a restless partner, or children and pets join you often, that extra 30cm is the difference between compromise and comfort. Sleeping solo, or in a smaller room, the UK king is the more sensible buy.
How much space does each person get on the super king?
Two people sharing get 90cm each, the width of a whole single bed apiece. On the Coolflex Lux Ortho Pocket that space works alongside the independent pocket springs, which keep one sleeper's movement from travelling across the mattress, so a fidgety partner is both further away and harder to feel.
Is the Coolflex Lux Ortho Pocket super king a good family bed?
It suits families well. The width means a wandering child can settle in the middle without pushing either adult to the edge, and the extra firm surface holds its feel across the full 180cm rather than dipping where weight gathers. Large dogs who share as routine are covered by the same logic.
Will a super king mattress get up my stairs?
This is the check that bites at this size. Measure your door swings, stair width and especially any landing turns before you order, because a 180 x 200cm mattress is awkward on a tight staircase even when it flexes. If access looks marginal, measure twice rather than hoping on delivery day.
