Memory foam
Dormeo says this layer contains 50% more memory foam than its Memory Classic Memory Foam Mattress, which means deeper cushioning where you need it. You should feel greater pressure relief around hips and shoulders.
Ecocell® foam
A supportive Ecocell® foam base that helps promote healthy spinal alignment. In practice, this means the mattress cradles you on top while keeping your back from dipping out of line.
Layer details from dormeo.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 75cm each for two sharing: Each of you gets 75cm of width, which means you can settle into the memory foam's contouring without drifting into each other's space.
- Less partner disturbance: Memory foam absorbs movement rather than transferring it, and the UK king's extra width adds distance, so a partner getting up early is easier to sleep through.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, a genuine relief if one of you is approaching six foot.
- A slim profile that suits king frames: At 17cm deep, it sits lower than many king mattresses, which keeps a wide bed from dominating the room visually.
- Pressure relief across the full width: The memory foam comfort layer cushions hips and shoulders wherever you settle, useful when a dog or restless partner pushes you to the edge.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, or you and your partner keep different hours and want a mattress that soaks up movement across a wider surface. It also suits couples where one of you is tall enough to appreciate the extra 10cm of length, or where a pet has quietly claimed a share of the bed.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone. In either case we'd recommend the UK double instead, allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m of floor space.

Is the Dormeo Memory Plus UK king big enough for a couple?
Yes, comfortably for most. Two people sharing get 75cm of width each, and because memory foam absorbs movement rather than bouncing it across the bed, you feel less of your partner shifting. Very broad or restless couples might still want more room, but for most this size ends the nightly negotiation over space.
Will the king size Dormeo Memory Plus suit a tall sleeper?
It helps. At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, so anyone approaching six foot gains genuine toe room. If you're well over six foot, that extra length is arguably the bigger reason to size up than the width.
What room size do I need for the Dormeo Memory Plus in a UK king?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, which allows walking space around the bed once wardrobes and bedside tables are in. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they first appear, so measure with furniture in mind. If your room falls short, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
Does the UK king reduce partner disturbance more than the double?
Noticeably, yes. The UK king is 15cm wider than the UK double, and combined with memory foam's motion-absorbing feel, that gap means an early riser or a partner on a different schedule disturbs you less. Width and material work together here; neither alone does as much.
