Layer Details
- Quilted Cover. The cover and fillings are stitched together to form a patterned comfort quilt layer. It gives the sleep surface a soft, cushioned first impression.
- Latex. A deep latex layer provides intense support with a medium feel, gently cushioning your body. Latex contours to your unique shape, which means pressure relief without the slow, stuck feeling of memory foam.
- Pocket Springs. Up to 1500 individually pocketed springs work alongside the latex, targeting support to key areas of your body. This encourages spinal alignment, which you will feel as a straighter, more comfortable sleeping posture.
- Edgetech Border Support. Edgetech springs along the sides maintain the mattress's structure and prevent roll-off. In practice, that means a fuller usable sleep surface, useful if you share a bed and end up near the edge.
Layer details from mattressnextday.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 90cm each for two sharing: Each of you gets 90cm of width, which means a restless partner is far enough away that their tossing barely registers.
- Latex plus distance for light sleepers: Pocket springs already move independently to cut motion transfer, and the extra width of the UK super king does the rest.
- Room for night-time visitors: When a child pads in at 3am, or the dog treats the bed as routine, 180cm of width means everyone keeps a workable share.
- Edge support you'll actually use: Edgetech border springs firm up the sides, useful in a shared bed where one of you inevitably ends up sleeping near the edge.
- Latex breathability across a bigger surface: Latex sleeps cooler than memory foam, so two warm bodies sharing all night are less likely to overheat each other.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK king still feels like a compromise, you have a genuinely restless partner and want distance rather than another comfort layer, or children and pets regularly join you and you'd rather plan for it than fight it. Your room should measure at least 3m x 2.9m, our suggested minimum for this size.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 3m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK super king, or you'd struggle to get a mattress this wide up the stairs. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 30cm narrower, the same length, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the super king Dunlopillo Kareena too big for a normal bedroom?
It depends on the room. We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king, and that's a minimum rather than a comfortable fit. Measure with bedside tables, door swing and wardrobe access in mind. If your room is smaller, the UK king is 30cm narrower and the same length, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.
Is the Dunlopillo Kareena super king good for couples with children who come in at night?
It's one of the better setups for it. The 180cm width means two adults and a wandering child can usually share without anyone hanging off the side, and the Edgetech border springs keep the edges supportive when you're pushed towards them. Latex also breathes well, which helps when three warm bodies share a bed.
Will the Kareena in a UK super king get up my stairs?
This is the size where staircases start to bite. At 180 x 200cm with a 33cm depth, and latex being a heavy, floppy material that resists tight bends, a narrow landing or awkward turn can be a real obstacle. Measure the route before ordering, including door frames and any low ceilings, as this mattress doesn't come in zip and link halves.
How much space does each person get on a super king Kareena?
90cm each for two people sharing, which is the width of a UK single per person. In practice that means a restless partner can turn over, shift and fidget largely out of your notice, and the pocket springs reduce whatever movement does travel across the mattress. Distance does more for undisturbed sleep than any comfort layer.
