Layer Details
- Dunlopillo® Latex. A 50mm layer of natural, breathable Dunlopillo latex that moulds to your shape to relieve pressure. It gives a fresh, cool feel, which means less of the heat build-up you might get from synthetic foams.
- Pocket Springs. 1050 pocket springs, each in its own fabric pocket, adapt to your body and move independently. In practice that means personalised support and less disturbance when a partner shifts position.
- Edgetech Springs. Thicker, firmer springs run along the border of the mattress to create a stronger edge that doesn't dip under pressure. You'll feel this as usable space right to the edge of the bed.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- 75cm each for two sharing: Each of you gets 75cm of width, which means room to shift position without meeting an elbow halfway through the night.
- Springs that keep movement local: The 1050 pocket springs in the kingsize compress independently, so a partner leaving hours before you is less likely to wake you.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, useful if one of you is approaching six foot and tired of overhanging feet.
- Usable width right to the border: Edgetech springs firm up the sides, which means the full 150cm is genuinely sleepable rather than sloping away at the edges.
- Latex feel across a wider surface: The 50mm natural latex layer contours without the sink-in warmth of memory foam, so a bigger bed doesn't mean a hotter one.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel cramped, one of you sleeps to a different schedule and movement wakes the other, or a taller partner needs the 200cm length as much as the width. It also suits couples whose dog has quietly claimed a third of the bed and who want that space back.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king. In that case we'd recommend the UK double instead, which is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter, and needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Dunlopillo Meya 1050 king big enough for a couple?
Yes, comfortably for most. The UK king gives 75cm of width each, and the pocket springs limit how much one sleeper's movement carries across the bed. If you're both broad or simply want maximum separation, the UK super king adds another 30cm of width, though it needs a room of at least 3m x 2.9m.
What room size do I need for a king size Meya 1050?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, which leaves room to walk around the bed and open drawers. A new build master bedroom can be tighter than it first appears once fitted wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor rather than the wall-to-wall figure.
Is the UK king Meya 1050 long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm, the UK king gives 10cm more length than the UK double, which is often the difference between feet on the mattress and feet hanging off it. The firm Edgetech border also means the foot end stays supportive rather than compressing where your feet rest.
Will I feel my partner moving on this mattress?
Less than on many. The kingsize has 1050 pocket springs that compress individually, so movement stays fairly local, and the 150cm width puts more distance between you in the first place. Latex also recovers quickly, so the surface settles fast after someone gets up early or comes to bed late.
What does the Meya 1050 cost in a king?
Prices change often, so we don't print a fixed figure here. Compare the retailers listed on this page; the prices shown are updated as retailers change them. The UK king sits towards the upper middle of the Meya 1050's range, between the UK double and the UK super king.
