- Fits compact rooms: At 90cm wide it slots into box rooms, loft conversions and student bedrooms; we suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space.
- Full pressure relief for one: The 9cm memory foam layer contours to a single sleeper's hips and shoulders without any compromise for a second body.
- A serious guest bed: Deep memory foam gives visitors a proper night's sleep rather than a spare-room afterthought, and the anti-allergenic foam suits guests with dust mite sensitivities.
- Cool for growing sleepers: The Cool-Sleep airflow layer and TENCEL cover move heat away, useful for teenagers who tend to run warm at night.
- Easy to dress: Standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet fit, and they're the cheapest bedding of any UK size.
This size suits you if...
You're a solo adult, teen or older child who wants pressure-relieving memory foam without paying for width you'll never use, your bedroom is on the small side and every centimetre of floor space counts, or you're setting up a spare room and want guests to sleep properly rather than politely.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who shares the bed regularly, or you simply feel hemmed in at 90cm wide. We'd recommend the UK double instead: it's 45cm wider than the UK single, and we suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

Will the Ergoflex 5G UK single fit a bunk or mid sleeper frame?
The 90 x 190cm footprint matches standard UK bunk and mid-sleeper frames, but check the frame's maximum mattress depth before buying. The Ergoflex 5G is 23cm deep, which is more than many bunk guard rails allow, so measure from the base to the top of the rail first. Safety guidance usually asks for the rail to sit well above the mattress surface.
Is the Ergoflex 5G single a good choice for a child or teenager?
For teenagers, yes: the deep memory foam supports growing bodies and the airflow layer helps with warm sleepers, while the anti-allergenic foam is a plus for dust mite allergies. For younger children the slow, hugging feel is a matter of taste, and some kids prefer a springier surface. It's a mattress a child can keep well into their teens.
How much floor space does a UK single mattress need?
The mattress itself is 90 x 190cm, and we suggest a room of at least 2.1m x 2.8m so you can walk alongside the bed and open drawers or a wardrobe. In a child's room that leaves reasonable space for a desk and toy storage; in a loft conversion the narrow footprint sits neatly under a sloped ceiling.
Can two Ergoflex 5G singles fit in one guest room?
Often, yes. Two 90cm-wide singles plus a walkway between them need a room comfortably wider than our 2.1m single-room minimum, so measure your space with a gap of at least 60cm in mind. Two singles give hosts flexibility a double can't: solo guests, friends travelling together, or siblings sharing all work on the same setup.
Is a UK single big enough for an adult?
For one adult, usually. At 3ft wide and 6ft 3in long it's the standard UK one-person size, and side sleepers get the full benefit of the memory foam without a partner nearby. Restless sleepers or anyone who sprawls may feel restricted, though; the UK small double is 30cm wider than the UK single and the same length.
