- A footprint most rooms can take: At 135 x 190cm, the UK double leaves space for bedside tables on both sides in a typical room, where a UK king often would not.
- Less partner disturbance where it matters: With 67.5cm each for two people sharing, the independent micro pocket springs help keep movement on one side from travelling across.
- Bedding is cheap and everywhere: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet are stocked at every price point, which keeps the ongoing cost of dressing the bed low.
- Two-man delivery to the room: Feather & Black carries the mattress to your room of choice, a relief if your stairs turn tightly in an older terrace or a compact new build.
- Cooler sharing: Two bodies raise the temperature under one duvet, so the wool blend fillings' natural temperature regulation counts for more in a shared double than it would solo.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your bedroom is a typical UK size, where a UK king would crowd the walkways. It also suits you if you're furnishing a guest room for visiting couples, since the UK double is the size guests expect, or you sleep alone and want genuine room to spread out without giving up floor space.
Consider another size if...
Either of you is tall or you both like room to sprawl, since a UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing. We'd recommend the UK king instead, provided your room allows at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Winwood double big enough for a couple?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the Winwood's micro pocket springs limit how much a partner's movement carries across the bed. If either of you is broad-shouldered or a spread-out sleeper, that width can feel snug, and the UK king is the sensible step up.
What size room do I need for the Winwood in a UK double?
We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That allowance leaves you space to walk around the bed and, in most rooms, to fit bedside tables on both sides, which a larger size often rules out.
What are the dimensions of the Feather & Black Winwood double?
The UK double measures 135 x 190cm, which is 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in. Depth is 22cm across every size of the Winwood, so standard double fitted sheets will fit, and a 200 x 200cm double duvet is the usual pairing.
Should I get the Winwood in a double or a king?
It usually comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king. If your bedroom clears that comfortably and you share every night, size up; if space is tighter, the UK double is the better balance.
Where can I buy the Winwood mattress in a double?
Availability shifts, so the most reliable answer is the live comparison table on this page, where prices are updated as retailers change them. Wherever you buy, the UK double comes with free two-man delivery to your room of choice, which matters if your stairs or landing are awkward.
