Key benefits
- Fits small rooms: At 3ft x 6ft 3in, it leaves space for a wardrobe and desk, and we suggest a room of at least 2.1m x 2.8m.
- A natural choice for children: There's no foam, glue or added chemicals, which means you know exactly what your child is sleeping on every night.
- Wool for warm and cool nights: The natural fibres are there for temperature control, which helps in a single that may sit in a stuffy loft room or a chilly spare room.
- Two singles for guests: A pair of UK singles lets a guest room host two friends separately, each with their own cushioned pillow top surface.
- Easy, cheap bedding: Standard single sheets and a single duvet at 135 x 200cm fit, and they are among the most widely available bedding sizes.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for one sleeper, perhaps a child, a teenager or an occasional guest, and you'd rather avoid foam. It also suits you if your room is small or shared with a second bed and floor space matters more than width.
Consider another size if...
You share a bed, or as an adult you want room to spread out. We'd recommend the UK small double instead, which is 30cm wider; allow at least 2.4m x 2.8m.

FAQ's
Will the Flaxby Alpaca Moor UK single fit a bunk bed or mid sleeper?
The 90 x 190cm footprint matches a standard UK single frame, but Flaxby doesn't publish a depth, and a pillow top adds a cushioned layer on top. Raised frames usually set a maximum mattress depth for guard rail safety, so check your frame's limit and ask the brand for the depth before ordering.
What room size do I need for a UK single Flaxby Natural Alpaca Moor?
We suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space. In a child's room that leaves a fair amount of space for a desk and storage. If two siblings share, plan each bed and a clear walkway between them before you commit.
Is a UK single Flaxby Alpaca Moor big enough for an adult?
For one adult of average height, usually yes, at 90cm wide and 190cm long. If you're tall, the UK king is 10cm longer, though it needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m. Couples should look at a wider size.
Is a natural wool mattress a good idea for a child's single bed?
For many parents it is. Made without foam, glue or chemicals and fully recyclable, it appeals if you want natural materials close to your child. Flaxby doesn't publish a firmness, and Dreams offers soft and medium comfort grades, so choose carefully for a growing child.
What sheets fit the Flaxby Alpaca Moor pillow top in a UK single?
Standard single fitted sheets and a single duvet at 135 x 200cm fit the 90 x 190cm size. Flaxby doesn't publish a depth, so check the pocket depth on fitted sheets, as a pillow top can sit higher than some shallow sheets allow.
