Layer Details
- Pillowtop. A sewn-on top layer of springs, cotton, wool and mohair. This gives a plush initial feel before you reach the main support system.
- Advanced Cortec Revolution Quad pocket spring system. An award-winning spring-within-a-spring design that provides dynamic support adapting to your body. In practice, that means firmer resistance where you press harder and a softer response elsewhere.
- Posturfil pocket springs. A layer of 1,000 Posturfil pocket springs. These move independently, which helps limit the ripple you feel when a partner turns over.
- High-density micro springs. Layers of 2,500 and 4,000 high-density micro springs. Smaller springs contour more closely to your shape, doing the pressure-relief job foam does in other mattresses.
- Fillings. Wool, hemp, flax, cotton and mohair. Natural fibres like these breathe well, which matters if you tend to sleep warm.
- Cover. A wool and viscose blend cover woven in-house, fire-retardant without chemical treatments. A small detail, but a reassuring one if you're sensitive to chemical smells from new mattresses.

- Space for two to sleep separately, together: With 75cm each, you can both stretch out without negotiating territory, which is the main reason couples move up from a double.
- Movement stays on one side: The 1,000 Posturfil pocket springs move independently, so an early riser slipping out at 5am is far less likely to wake the person still sleeping.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which means anyone approaching six foot finally gets their feet on the mattress.
- Dual tension on each side: Furniture Village lists dual tension for the king, so one of you can have medium and the other firm on the same mattress.
- Cooler across a bigger surface: Wool, hemp, flax, cotton and mohair breathe better than foam, and with 150cm of width you can also shift to a cooler patch on warm nights.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel like a compromise, especially if one of you keeps different hours and gets up first. It also fits if one partner is over six foot and needs the 200cm length, or if you each want a different firmness, since dual tension is available in this size.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king, or you sleep alone and the 150cm width would mostly go unused, along with the cost of filling it with this much spring and natural fibre.

Can I get dual tension on the Pure Grande Pillowtop in a UK king?
Yes. Furniture Village lists dual tension options for the king and super king sizes, so each half of the mattress can be a different feel, medium on one side and firm on the other. That makes the UK king a sensible pick for couples who have never agreed on firmness.
Is the UK king Pure Grande good for couples on different schedules?
It suits them well. The 1,000 Posturfil pocket springs move independently, and the micro spring layers above them respond locally rather than across the whole surface. Combined with 75cm of width each, one partner getting up hours before the other causes far less disturbance than on a narrower bed.
Is the Harrison Spinks Pure Grande UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm long, the UK king gives you 10cm more length than the UK double, which is often the difference between feet on the mattress and feet hanging off it. For most people a little over six foot, that extra length is the real upgrade, more than the width.
What room size do I need for the Pure Grande Pillowtop in a UK king?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m. That leaves enough space to walk round the bed and open drawers, though a new build master bedroom can shrink quickly once fitted wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor rather than the full room. Also note this mattress is 33cm deep, so allow for taller bedding.
Where can I buy the Pure Grande Pillowtop in a UK king?
This mattress is made exclusively for Furniture Village, so you can't shop the price around between retailers. The price shown on this page is live data, updated as the retailer changes it, which makes it the quickest way to check what the UK king costs today.
