Layer Details
- Stretch Knit Fabric Cover. A soft, pliable cover that lets the fillings beneath contour to your body shape. In practice this means you feel the comfort layers working rather than a taut, drum-like surface.
- White Fibre Fillings. A lightweight, high-loft filling that retains its shape and is hypo-allergenic. It adds a layer of cushioning between you and the foam core, and should resist flattening over time.
- Advanced Reflex Foam Core. A supportive, long-lasting hypo-allergenic foam that conforms to your body by distributing weight evenly, which means reduced pressure points at the usual sore spots. This is the main support layer, as the Hudson contains no springs.

- 90cm of width each: Two people sharing get 90cm each, which means a restless partner turning over happens at a distance rather than against your back.
- 30cm wider than a UK king: That extra 30cm over the UK king is what makes room for a child or dog wandering in without anyone ending up on the edge.
- Light for its size: At 18cm deep with a foam core and no springs, this is one of the easier super kings to carry upstairs and turn on a landing.
- Flippable at full width: The Hudson is double-sided, so even at 180cm wide you can flip and rotate it to spread wear across the whole surface.
- Budget-friendly at the largest size: Super kings usually carry the biggest premium in a range, so the Hudson's simple foam build keeps this size within reach of more buyers.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the maximum mainstream space UK retailers stock, your partner is genuinely restless and distance matters more than any comfort layer, or children and pets regularly join you in the small hours and everyone still needs their own share of the mattress. Your room should comfortably clear our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under 3m x 2.9m, which is the minimum we'd suggest for this size. If the room is tight, the UK king would suit you better: still 200cm long, just 30cm narrower.

How much space does each person get on a Highgrove Hudson super king?
Two people sharing get 90cm each, the widest per-person allowance of any standard UK size. Across the Hudson's medium foam surface that means a partner shifting position at night is felt far less, because the distance does more to stop disturbance than any layer of foam could.
What room size do I need for the Highgrove Hudson super king?
We suggest allowing at least 3m x 2.9m, with around 3.5m x 3.2m feeling right once you add wardrobes and walking space. This is our guidance rather than Highgrove's. In a large master or a period bedroom where a UK king looks undersized, the super king fills the space properly.
Is the Highgrove Hudson super king easy to get upstairs?
Easier than most at this size. It arrives compressed in a box, and the Hudson's 18cm depth and springless foam build keep the weight down, so tight landings and door swings are less of a battle. Still measure any awkward turns before you order, as 180 x 200cm is a lot of mattress once expanded.
Is a super king Hudson worth it for a restless partner?
This is the size where it makes the biggest difference. With 90cm each, movement on one side largely stays on that side, and foam transfers less motion than a bouncy sprung mattress anyway. If your partner tosses and turns, the width does more for your sleep than upgrading the comfort layers would.
Can children or pets share a Highgrove Hudson super king?
It's the size best suited to it. At 180cm wide there's room for a child or a large dog to settle between you without pushing either adult to the edge. One caution: the Hudson is a medium-feel mattress at 18cm deep, so it sits lower on the frame than a taller hybrid, which some families actually prefer for little ones climbing in.
