Layer Details
- Memory Foam. A 2cm memory layer that contours to your body for personalised comfort and helps relieve pressure on joints, back and hips. It's a cooling layer too, which matters if you tend to sleep warm.
- Pocket Springs. 800 individual pocket springs that move independently, which means support tailored to where your body needs it and no motion transfer. In practice, you're less likely to feel a partner turning over.

- Fits where other beds won't: At 90cm wide it needs just 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space by our guidance, so it works under a loft slope or alongside a desk and wardrobe.
- A sensible children's mattress: The medium firm feel gives growing backs support without a hard surface, and the slim 2cm memory foam layer suits lighter bodies well.
- Works on raised frames: At 23cm deep it sits within the range most bunk, cabin and mid-sleeper frames allow, although you should check the guard rail height first.
- Guest ready without fuss: Two UK singles fit a guest room where one double dominates it, giving visitors their own bed and you a walkway between them.
- Cheap, easy bedding: Single sheets and duvets are the most widely stocked of any size, which keeps running costs down for kids' rooms and spare beds.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for a child or teenager and want pocket springs rather than a basic open coil at a low price, you sleep alone and your room is on the small side, or you're kitting out a spare room, student flat or guest space where a 90cm footprint leaves room for everything else.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who spreads out at night, or you share the bed even occasionally. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which is 45cm wider and the same length; allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m of floor space for it.

What size is the Horizon Odyssey 800 UK single?
It measures 90 x 190cm, or 3ft x 6ft 3in, the standard UK one-person size. We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which leaves room to walk round the bed and open drawers. Standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet fit it.
Will the Horizon Odyssey 800 single fit a bunk or mid sleeper frame?
The 90 x 190cm footprint matches standard UK bunk and cabin frames, and at 23cm deep it's slimmer than many hybrids, which helps on a raised bed. Do check your frame's maximum mattress depth and make sure the guard rail still sits comfortably above the sleeping surface.
Is the Horizon Odyssey 800 single good for a child or teenager?
It's a reasonable fit. The medium firm feel supports a growing spine without feeling hard, and the 800 pocket springs adjust to lighter bodies better than a basic open coil unit. The 2cm memory foam layer is slim, but for a child's weight that's less of a drawback than it would be for a heavier adult.
Can two singles work in a guest room instead of a double?
Yes, and it's often the more flexible choice. Two 90cm-wide beds suit visiting friends or siblings who'd rather not share, and each UK single is the same length as a UK double, so nobody's feet hang off. You'll need space for a walkway between them, so measure before committing.
Where can I check prices for the Horizon Odyssey 800 in a single?
Compare the retailers listed on this page. The prices shown here are updated as retailers change them, so you're seeing current figures rather than a snapshot, and any promotional pricing on the UK single will appear as soon as it goes live.
