- Belgian damask cover. A breathable Belgian damask fabric tops the mattress. It lets air move through the sleep surface rather than sealing heat in.
- Wool layer. Wool fillings give a soft, cushioned feel at the surface, which means the firm springs beneath don't feel harsh against your body. It's a natural choice if you prefer a traditional mattress over synthetic foams.
- eOlus fibres. These fibres offer resilient body support while letting air and moisture pass through easily. Unlike foam, they don't hold onto heat or sweat, yet they still give a soft, foam-like feel.
- ReActive 7-turn pocket springs. Each spring has seven turns and works independently, sensing the comfort and support needs of you and your partner and spreading downward pressure smoothly. In practice, that means full spinal support and less disturbance when one of you moves.

- 90cm of width each: Two sleepers get 90cm each, so a partner who turns over frequently, or gets up early, becomes far easier to sleep through.
- Space when children wander in: At 180cm wide there's still a fair share for everyone when a small visitor arrives at 3am, rather than one adult clinging to the edge.
- Independent support across a wide bed: The 7-turn pocket springs respond to each sleeper's weight separately, which means the firm support holds up even when two very different builds share it.
- Breathable at scale: Wool and eOlus fibres let heat and moisture escape rather than build up, useful when a large bed holds two adults, plus the occasional dog.
- Fills a large master properly: In a period property or generous new build master, a UK king can look undersized; the 6ft x 6ft 6in footprint sits in proportion.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and want the most sleeping space a standard UK size offers, one of you is a genuinely restless sleeper, or children or a large dog regularly join you and you'd rather nobody lost out. It also suits you if your bedroom is large enough that a UK king would leave the room feeling half furnished.
Consider another size if...
Your room is under the 3m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum, or you sleep alone. The UK king is 30cm narrower and the same length, needs a smaller room at 2.7m x 2.9m, and we'd recommend it instead.

What room size do I need for a super king Hypnos Wool Ortho?
We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, and around 3.5m x 3.2m feels more comfortable, leaving space to walk round both sides and open drawers. This is our guidance rather than Hypnos's. If your room falls short, the UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m by our reckoning and gives up only width, since both sizes are the same length.
Is the Hypnos Wool Ortho super king good for restless partners?
It's one of the better cases for this size. The ReActive 7-turn pocket springs work independently, so movement on one side transfers less to the other, and with 90cm of width each you're simply further from the disturbance. Firm mattresses also tend to shift less as someone rolls, though the springs are doing most of the work here.
Will a super king mattress get up my stairs?
A 180 x 200cm mattress is the awkward one to move, so check door swings, landing turns and any tight stairwell before ordering. Pocket sprung mattresses like this don't roll up the way boxed foam does, so it travels at full size. If access looks tight, measure the tightest corner rather than hoping, or ask the retailer about their delivery access policy.
Is a Hypnos Wool Ortho super king big enough for co-sleeping with children?
For occasional night-time visitors, yes. At 180cm wide there's room for two adults and a small child without anyone hanging off the edge, and the independent springs mean a wriggling child disturbs the far side less. The firm surface also holds its shape under uneven, shifting weight better than a soft mattress would.
How much wider is the UK super king than the UK king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length at 200cm. That 30cm sounds modest but it takes you from 150cm to a full 6ft of width shared between two people.
