- Cover. A soft-touch cotton-viscose cover with embroidered detailing, which means the surface feels smooth rather than scratchy. It's treated with M-Pure, a plant-based fire-resistant finish, so fire safety is handled without chemical-heavy treatments.
- Comfort fillings. Blended layers of 100% Hampshire fleece wool, silk and cashgora fibres with English cotton sit beneath the cover. Hand-tufting holds these fillings in place, which means they're less likely to shift or bunch over time.
- Support system. A 5000 pocket spring system with ErgoZone 7 zoning uses thicker gauge wire and higher tension under your head, hips and feet, with softer zones at the shoulders and legs. In practice that means firmer support where your body is heaviest and more give where you need pressure relief.
- Edge support. A metal rod runs along the top and bottom of the spring unit's edge, held with butterfly clips. This stiffens the border, so you get less of that roll-off feeling near the sides and better long-term durability.

- 75cm each for two sharing: The UK king gives 75cm of width per person, which means you can sink into those soft wool and silk layers without drifting into your partner's half.
- 7.5cm more space each than a UK double: The UK double gives 67.5cm each, so the UK king adds 7.5cm per person, a difference you feel every time one of you rolls over.
- 5000 pocket springs across the full width: Springs move independently, which means a partner leaving for an early shift disturbs you less than they would on a smaller, cheaper spring unit.
- 200cm of length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which means anyone approaching six foot stops sleeping with their feet at the very edge.
- Rod edge support keeps the border usable: The metal rod edge means the sides stay supportive, so the full 150cm width is genuinely sleepable rather than shrinking in practice.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double has started to feel cramped, especially with a soft, sink-in feel like this one. Or one of you is close to six foot and needs the 200cm length as much as the width. It also suits couples on mismatched schedules who want the pocket springs and extra space to soak up movement.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and still offers the same soft, natural-filled feel.

Is a UK king big enough for a couple on this soft a mattress?
Yes, comfortably for most. The UK king gives 75cm of width each, and because the Millbrook Wool Luxury 5000 is soft to medium, you settle into your own patch of the fillings rather than rolling towards the middle. The 5000 pocket springs respond to each of you independently, which keeps movement transfer down.
Will the UK king reduce disturbance if my partner gets up earlier than me?
It helps on two fronts. The width means they can slide out without climbing past you, and the pocket springs compress individually, so their side moving doesn't ripple across to yours. The rod edge also keeps the border stable when they sit on it to get dressed.
What room size does the Millbrook Wool Luxury 5000 UK king need?
We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, and that's our guidance rather than Millbrook's. In a new build master bedroom, measure with the wardrobes in place: rooms that look generous empty can get tight once you allow walking space on both sides of a 150cm-wide bed.
Is the UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm, it's 10cm longer than a UK double, and for many taller sleepers that length is the real reason to upgrade. Combined with the ErgoZone 7 zoning, which puts firmer tension under the feet, a taller sleeper gets support right to the end of the mattress rather than overhanging it.
Should I choose a UK king or a UK super king for this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider, giving 90cm each against the UK king's 75cm, and both are the same 200cm length. If your room meets our suggested 3m x 2.9m minimum for a UK super king and you share with a restless partner, or a dog with fixed habits, the extra width is genuinely useful. Otherwise the UK king is the practical choice.
