Layer Details
- Damask cover. A finely woven damask cover that is soft to the touch. Damask is a durable fabric, so it should hold up well over years of use.
- Natural fibre comfort layer. A blend of Hampshire wool, silk and cashgora gives a plush, cosy surface feel. Wool and silk are naturally breathable, which helps with temperature regulation.
- Cotton blend comfort layer. A cotton and polyester blend adds further breathability. In practice, this means less heat building up around you overnight.
- Graphite latex. A layer of graphite latex foam that shapes around your body while keeping a natural bounce. It is highly adaptive, so it contours without the slow, stuck-in feel some foams have.
- Pocket spring support core. A core of 1,000 pocket springs with a 7-zone ergonomic design that adapts to your movement. Zoning means different areas of the mattress respond differently, supporting hips and shoulders where they need it.
- Mini springs. 3,000 mini springs sit within the mattress to add bounce and increase comfort. Combined with the pocket spring core, that brings the total to 4,000 springs.
- Ultra Edge support. A rod wire frame with butterfly clips forms Millbrook's Ultra Edge system. This firms up the perimeter, so you can sleep near the edge without feeling you might roll off.

- 75cm of space each: Two people sharing get 75cm each, which means you can change position without negotiating with an elbow.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, so a partner approaching six foot stops finding their feet at the edge.
- Springs that keep movement local: The 1,000 pocket springs and 3,000 mini springs respond individually, so an early riser slipping out at 6am is less likely to wake the other.
- Edges you can actually use: Millbrook's Ultra Edge rod wire frame firms up the perimeter, useful when the extra width tempts you to spread right out to the sides.
- Natural fillings across a bigger surface: Hampshire wool, silk and cashgora breathe well, which matters more when two bodies share the bed all night.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and the UK double has started to feel like a compromise, especially if one of you gets up hours before the other. It also makes sense if either sleeper is tall, since the 200cm length gives real clearance, or if a dog has quietly claimed a strip of the mattress and you'd like your share back.
Consider another size if...
Your room is under our suggested minimum of 2.7m x 2.9m, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which still gives 67.5cm each for two sharing and needs a smaller room, at least 2.6m x 2.8m by our guidance.

Is the Millbrook Wool Luxury Latex 4000 in a UK king good for couples?
Yes, and it's the size most couples on this mattress should look at first. You get 75cm of width each, 7.5cm more per person than the UK double, and the pocket spring construction keeps one sleeper's movement from travelling across to the other. Restless partners and different alarm times are exactly what the extra width is for.
What room size do I need for this mattress in a UK king?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, which leaves enough space to walk round the bed and open drawers. In a new build master bedroom, measure after allowing for wardrobes; rooms that look generous empty can feel tight once furniture is in. If yours falls short, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
Is the UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm, or 6ft 6in, it gives most tall sleepers comfortable clearance. That's 10cm more length than the UK single, small double or double, and often the real reason a tall partner wants to size up. The UK super king is the same length, so going bigger again only adds width, not legroom.
Should we choose the UK king or the UK super king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider, giving 90cm each rather than the UK king's 75cm, but it needs a room of at least 3m x 2.9m by our guidance. If your bedroom takes it comfortably and you want maximum separation, size up. For most couples the UK king is the better balance of space and room fit.
Will the edges of the UK king feel supportive with two sharing?
They should. Millbrook's Ultra Edge system, a rod wire frame with butterfly clips, firms up the perimeter, so the full 150cm width is usable rather than just the middle. That matters in a king, where couples tend to spread out, and it helps if one of you sits on the edge to dress while the other sleeps on.
