Key benefits
- Sized for ordinary bedrooms: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, so most UK main bedrooms and many second bedrooms can take this double with space to move around it.
- Space for bedside tables: In a room of around 3m x 3m, you can usually keep a bedside table on each side of the UK double and still open a wardrobe door.
- Individual springs for sharing: Each of the 2500 springs sits in its own fabric pocket and works on its own, which should help when two people share 67.5cm each.
- Easy bedding, with one check: Double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit, although at 37cm deep you'll want fitted sheets with a deep pocket.
- A proper bed for guests: In a spare room, the UK double gives visiting couples a shared bed with a familiar springy feel, rather than a cramped compromise.
This size suits you if...
You share a bed with a partner in a typical UK bedroom and want a sprung pillow top that still leaves space for furniture, or you're furnishing a guest room for visiting couples and want something more generous than a small double.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both sprawl, or one of you is tall and feels cramped at 190cm long. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which is 10cm longer; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

FAQ's
Is the Relyon Lucia 2500 Pillow Top UK double big enough for two?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives each of you 67.5cm, which is the long-standing UK standard for sharing. If one of you sleeps diagonally or you regularly share with a pet as well, the space can feel slightly tight, and the UK king gives 75cm each.
What room size do I need for a UK double Relyon Lucia 2500?
We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m. Around 3m x 3m is more comfortable, giving you room for bedside tables on both sides and a walkway at the foot of the bed. In a smaller second bedroom, measure where the wardrobe and drawers will sit before you buy.
Relyon Lucia 2500 UK double vs UK king: what's the difference?
The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, which works out at 7.5cm less each for two people sharing. The trade-off is room space: we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double, against at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
What bedding fits the Relyon Lucia 2500 Pillow Top double?
Standard double sheets fit, and a 200 x 200cm double duvet covers two people. The one thing to check is the fitted sheet's pocket depth, because this mattress is 37cm deep with its pillow top, and shallow sheets may struggle to stay tucked at the corners.
How big is a Relyon Lucia UK double in feet and inches?
The UK double measures 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, or 135 x 190cm. That's the size most UK bed frames labelled double are made for, so if you're replacing a mattress on an existing double frame, it should drop straight in.
