Layer Details
- Deep open-cell memory foam. An open-cell comfort layer that actively cools as you sleep, which means the pressure-relieving hug of memory foam with less of the heat build-up the material is known for. This is the layer you'll feel first when you lie down.
- 5000 dual-layer pocket springs. A dual-layer arrangement of 5,000 pocket springs with multi-zoned support and an encapsulated edge, which means precise contouring to your body and a firmer perimeter so you can use the full width of the bed. It also gives superior motion isolation, so a restless partner is less likely to wake you.
Layer details from rem-fit.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Room to sleep apart: At 90cm each, the same width as a UK single, a fidgety partner sits further away than on any smaller size, and the pocket springs dampen much of what still reaches you.
- Space when a child climbs in: The extra 15cm each over the UK king means two adults keep a proper share when a small visitor arrives, rather than clinging to opposite edges.
- Edges you can sleep on: The encapsulated spring edge is firmer at the perimeter, which means the outer strip of all 180cm stays supportive instead of sloping away beneath you.
- Room for the dog as well: If a large dog sleeps on the bed as routine, a 6ft wide surface lets it settle without either of you surrendering half your side.
- In proportion with a big bedroom: In a generous master or a period room with high ceilings, a UK king can look a little lost, whereas 6ft x 6ft 6in fills the space properly.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night with someone who shifts, kicks or gets up often, your children or a big dog regularly end up joining you, and your bedroom comfortably clears our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under 3m x 2.9m, or tight landings and door swings would make a 180cm mattress awkward to manoeuvre. We'd recommend the UK king instead; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is the Rem-Fit 5000 Lux Elite UK super king big enough for two adults and a child?
For occasional visits, yes. Two adults get 90cm each, so a small child tucked between you still leaves both of you a real share. If it happens most nights it will feel fuller, but far less cramped than the UK king, which gives 75cm each. The pocket springs also help contain the wriggling.
Rem-Fit 5000 Lux Elite UK super king or UK king: which should I buy?
The UK super king is 30cm wider and the same length, giving each of you 15cm more. Choose it if disturbance or a crowded bed is your problem. If your room can't clear 3m x 2.9m, the UK king is the sensible call, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for that size.
Will a UK super king Rem-Fit fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
Possibly, but the sloping ceiling usually decides it. You need a full-height wall for the headboard end and enough standing room along both long sides to get in and out. Beyond our 3m x 2.9m floor minimum, check where the slope cuts in, because usable floor in a loft is often smaller than the measured footprint.
Is the Rem-Fit 5000 Lux Elite UK super king good if my partner is a restless sleeper?
It is a strong pairing. Distance does most of the work: at 90cm each, you each have a strip as wide as a UK single. The pocket springs then absorb much of the movement that does travel, so a partner turning over is less likely to wake you. No comfort layer matches that kind of separation.
Is a UK super king Rem-Fit 5000 Lux Elite big enough to share with a large dog?
For most couples with one large dog, yes. The 180cm width lets a dog settle without pushing either of you towards the edge, and the firmer encapsulated perimeter keeps the outermost part of the bed supportive if you do get squeezed over. Two big dogs is a different matter, so expect some compromise.
