Layer Details
- Foam layers. Foam comfort layers sit above the springs, which means a slightly cushioned surface feel over the firm support beneath. They complement rather than mask the spring system below.
- AlignSupport® spring system. An open-coil spring system exclusive to Sealy that forms the mattress's supportive core. Open coils give a springy, connected feel across the whole surface, keeping you supported rather than cradled.

- Fits almost any room: We suggest at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which most UK bedrooms clear comfortably, even a child's room already holding a wardrobe and desk.
- Firm support for growing sleepers: The firm, evenly sprung surface gives children and teens a stable base rather than a sinking one, which many parents specifically look for.
- Solves the shared-room squeeze: At 90cm wide, two UK singles can sit in one room for siblings while still leaving a walkway between them.
- A sensible guest bed: The no-sink firmness suits occasional use well, and a single keeps a spare room usable as an office the rest of the week.
- Cheap, easy bedding: Standard single sheets and a 135 x 200cm single duvet fit, and both are the most widely stocked bedding of any UK size.
This size suits you if...
You're buying for one sleeper: a child or teenager whose bedroom has to fit a bed alongside toy storage and a desk, a spare room that doubles as an office, or a first flat where the frame came with the room but the mattress didn't. It also fits if you sleep on your back or front and want a firm, springy surface in the smallest standard footprint.
Consider another size if...
You're an adult who likes room to stretch out, or your guest room needs to sleep couples. We'd recommend the UK double instead: it's 45cm wider than the UK single and the same length, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

Is the Sealy Serenity UK single a good choice for a child's room?
Yes, with one caveat. The UK single is the standard children's size at 90 x 190cm, and the Serenity's firm AlignSupport® spring core gives a stable, supportive surface many parents prefer for growing sleepers. The caveat is weight: very light side sleepers may find a firm mattress a little hard on shoulders and hips, so consider how your child sleeps.
Will the Sealy Serenity single fit a bunk or mid sleeper frame?
The 90 x 190cm footprint matches standard UK bunk and mid sleeper frames, so width and length are fine. The thing to check is depth: raised frames usually specify a maximum mattress depth so the guard rail stays effective. Sealy doesn't publish a depth, so check the frame's limit against the retailer listing before buying.
Is the UK single Sealy Serenity long enough for a tall teenager?
It's 190cm long (6ft 3in), which covers most teenagers with room to spare. If they're already very tall, bear in mind the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK single, though it's also 60cm wider and needs a much bigger room: we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king. For most teens, the single's length is fine.
How much space do I need for a single Sealy Serenity?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space, which is our guidance rather than Sealy's. That leaves room to walk round and open drawers, and it's why the UK single works in box rooms, lofts with a narrow footprint and children's bedrooms that also hold a wardrobe, desk and toy storage.
Should I buy the Sealy Serenity in a single or a small double?
It depends who's sleeping on it. The UK single is 30cm narrower than the UK small double, and the two are the same length. For a child, teen or a tight guest room, the single is the practical pick. A solo adult who wants extra width could size up, allowing at least 2.4m x 2.8m for the UK small double.
