Layer Details
- Intense™ sleep surface. The top layer uses Intense™ fabric technology woven into the sleep surface. It's Oeko-tex® approved and free from FR chemical treatments, which means fewer chemical finishes next to your skin.
- Latex. A latex layer provides cushioning comfort and pressure relief, distributing your weight evenly across the surface. In practice, that means less pressure building up at your hips and shoulders overnight.
- Springs. A combination of 1000 mini springs and 600 Mirapocket® springs delivers zoned support and spinal alignment. The pocket springs respond to different parts of your body independently, so heavier areas get more support.
Layer details from silentnight.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Room for two without dominating the room: At 135 x 190cm the UK double gives a couple a proper shared bed while still fitting bedrooms where a UK king would crowd the walls.
- Independent support on each side: The 600 Mirapocket® springs respond to each sleeper separately, so a heavier partner sinking in shouldn't pull you towards the middle.
- 67.5cm each for two people sharing: That's the standard couples' allowance, and the latex layer cushions hips and shoulders within it, useful for side sleepers who can't sprawl.
- Space for bedside tables both sides: Allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m and most rooms will still take a table on each side, which matters when you both need a lamp and a phone charger.
- Easy to dress: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm duvet fit, stocked everywhere at every price, handy if you're kitting out a bedroom from scratch.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your room suits the classic couples' footprint, you both like a softer, more cradling feel, or you sleep alone and want space to stretch out, perhaps with a dog or cat claiming a corner. It also makes a comfortable guest bed for visiting couples, since medium soft tends to be forgiving for a range of sleepers.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner keep waking each other, or one of you is broad shouldered and 67.5cm each feels tight. We'd recommend the UK king instead: it's 15cm wider and 10cm longer, and we suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for it.

Is a UK double Silentnight Lift Rejuvenate 1600 big enough for two adults?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the 600 Mirapocket® springs support each side independently, so movement transfers less than on an open coil bed. Taller couples should note the 190cm length; the UK king adds 10cm of length as well as 15cm of width.
What room size do I need for the Lift Rejuvenate 1600 in a UK double?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That allows walking space on both sides and, in most rooms, a bedside table each. This is our guidance rather than Silentnight's, so measure your own layout, including wardrobe and door swing, before committing.
Will the UK double version get through a narrow staircase?
At 135 x 190cm it's the size most UK homes are built around, but the latex and spring construction means it won't fold like an all-foam roll-up once unpacked. If you live in an older terrace with a turning staircase or a tight new build landing, measure the awkward point first and check the delivery arrangements with the retailer.
Is the UK double a good choice for a guest room?
It's a sensible one. The 135 x 190cm footprint accommodates visiting couples, and the medium soft latex feel is forgiving enough that occasional guests with different preferences will mostly get on with it. In a smaller spare room shared with a wardrobe and drawers, the UK small double is 15cm narrower and the same length.
Should I get the Lift Rejuvenate 1600 in a double or a king?
Go with the UK double if your room is near our suggested 2.6m x 2.8m minimum or you want to keep furniture options open. Size up if you're both restless or over about six feet tall: the UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m of floor space for it.
