- Intense™ sleep surface. The sleep surface is woven with Intense fabric technology, which Silentnight says is scientifically proven to help your body relax for deeper, undisturbed sleep. It's Oeko-tex approved and free from FR chemical treatments.
- Luxurious Latex. A latex comfort layer that moves when you do, so your weight stays evenly distributed through the night. That helps relieve pressure and soothe aches and pains, particularly around the hips and shoulders where side sleepers tend to feel it.
- 1200 Mirapocket® springs. Individual pocket springs adjust to your body weight, giving ease of movement and reducing disturbance from a restless partner. The zoned support is scientifically proven, according to Silentnight, to improve spinal alignment and posture.

- Room for two, space to spare around it: At 135cm wide you get 67.5cm each for two people sharing, while leaving space for wardrobes and drawers in an average bedroom.
- Springs that work for mismatched couples: The 1,200 Mirapocket springs respond to each sleeper's weight separately, so a lighter partner isn't pulled towards a heavier one.
- Latex that limits partner disturbance: Latex is springy rather than slow to recover, which means when one of you turns over, the surface settles quickly instead of rippling across the bed.
- Fits most UK bedrooms: We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m, which the majority of British doubles and second bedrooms comfortably meet.
- Bedding is cheap and everywhere: Double sheets and 200 x 200cm duvets are stocked at every price point, so dressing the bed costs less than it would for a UK king.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and your room can't take anything wider, or you sleep alone and want space to stretch out, perhaps with a dog or cat that claims a corner. It also makes sense for a guest room that hosts visiting couples, since the medium feel is a safe middle ground for people whose preferences you can't predict.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner both want more personal space and the room allows it. The UK king gives you 15cm more width and 10cm more length; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m and we'd recommend it instead.

Is the Silentnight Lift Renew Hybrid 1200 double big enough for two adults?
For most couples, yes. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, and the individually responding Mirapocket springs mean you won't roll towards a heavier partner. Taller sleepers should note the 190cm length, though: if either of you is over about six foot, the UK king adds 10cm of length as well as 15cm of width.
What room size do I need for the Lift Renew Hybrid 1200 in a UK double?
We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m, with around 3m x 3m the comfortable norm. That tighter minimum still leaves walking space along one side, but if you want bedside tables on both sides plus a wardrobe, the roomier figure is the one to aim for. These are our recommendations, not Silentnight's.
Should I get this mattress in a UK double or a UK king?
It comes down to your room. The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king, so it fits where a king would dominate, and bedding costs less. If your bedroom measures at least 2.7m x 2.9m and you share every night, the extra width of the UK king is usually worth having.
Will the double size fit up narrow stairs in an older house?
At 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in it's the largest size that still turns most tight staircases and new build landings without drama, one reason it remains the UK default. Measure your narrowest turn before ordering, and remember this is a sprung hybrid, so it arrives full size rather than rolled flat like an all-foam mattress might.
Is a double a good choice for a guest room?
It's the size we'd usually suggest for guests. It sleeps visiting couples properly, and the medium feel with a responsive latex top is a sensible middle ground when you can't know each guest's preference. It also leaves more floor space than a UK king, useful if the room doubles as storage or a study.
