Layer Details
- Memory Foam Comfort Layer. A responsive memory foam layer that gently moulds to your body's contours, which means pressure points like hips and shoulders get some welcome relief. It absorbs energy as you move, so you feel cradled rather than bounced.
- Mirapocket Spring Support System. 1,000 individually nested pocket springs (counted on the king size, pro-rata for other sizes) that react independently to your body weight and movement. In practice this means zoned support that keeps your spine aligned and limits motion transfer across the bed.
Layer details from silentnight.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- The full 1,000 springs: Silentnight counts its springs on the king size, so this is the one size where you get exactly 1,000 pocket springs rather than a pro-rata number.
- Less partner disturbance where it matters: Pocket springs react independently to movement, and with 75cm each you're far enough apart that an early alarm on one side barely registers on the other.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which means anyone approaching 6ft stops sleeping with their feet at the edge.
- Firm feel across a wider bed: The medium/firm support stays consistent edge to edge, so back and stomach sleepers get proper spinal alignment even spread across 150cm.
- Allergy protection at scale: The Purotex probiotic treatment covers the whole 150 x 200cm surface, a real help if dust sensitivities affect either of you.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a double no longer feels big enough, especially if one of you gets up hours before the other and you'd rather not feel it. It also suits you if one partner is approaching 6ft and needs the 200cm length, or if a dog has quietly become a permanent fixture and 135cm stopped being enough some time ago.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m minimum, or you sleep alone. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which is 15cm narrower and needs a slightly smaller room, at least 2.6m x 2.8m by our guidance.

Is a UK king Silentnight Memory 1000 big enough for a couple?
Comfortably, for most. At 150 x 200cm you each get 75cm of width, and the pocket springs limit how much you feel your partner move. If one of you sprawls, shares with children or brings a dog into the equation, the UK super king adds another 30cm of width at the same length.
Does the king size Memory 1000 really have 1,000 springs?
Yes, and this is the only size where the number is exact. Silentnight counts the springs on the king, with other sizes adjusted pro-rata, so a UK king buyer gets precisely the 1,000 individually nested pocket springs the name promises.
Will the Silentnight Memory 1000 king fit in my bedroom?
We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, which leaves enough space to walk round the bed and open drawers. That's our guidance rather than Silentnight's. In a new build master, measure once the wardrobes are in, as these rooms are often tighter than they first look.
Is the UK king long enough for someone over 6ft?
It helps considerably. The UK king is 200cm long, 10cm more than the UK double, so a sleeper around or just over 6ft gets clear space above and below rather than heels hanging off the end. Sizing up to the UK super king adds width only; the length is the same.
How heavy is the Memory 1000 in a king, and can one person move it?
Silentnight doesn't publish a weight for this mattress, but a 150 x 200cm hybrid with pocket springs and memory foam is a genuine two-person lift. Since it's single-sided and rotate-only, you'll be turning it head to foot a few times a year, so plan on doing that with help.
