- Cool-to-touch sleep surface. SensICE fabric gives an instant cooling effect against your skin, which means you feel a pleasant chill the moment you get in. It draws heat away from your body for a cooler night's sleep.
- Gel infused comfort layer. A responsive gel infused layer that reacts to your movements. As you shift position through the night, it adapts with you rather than leaving you to sink into one spot.
- Breathable foam. Silentnight describes this foam as 5X more breathable than memory foam, which means heat has somewhere to go instead of gathering beneath you. It works alongside the gel layer to keep the sleep surface feeling fresh.
- Plush pillowtop. A plush pillowtop adds a softer, cushioned feel at the surface for soothing relief. It takes a little of the edge off the firm support beneath.

Will the Silentnight UltraGel CoolTouch 3000 UK single fit a cabin bed or mid sleeper?
Possibly not. The mattress is 37cm deep, which is taller than many raised frames are designed for. A deep mattress can sit above the safety rail, so check the frame maker's maximum mattress depth before buying. On a standard divan or low bedstead in a UK single, depth isn't a concern.
Is the UltraGel CoolTouch 3000 Firm single too firm for a child?
It depends on how your child sleeps. Back and front sleepers usually get on well with a firm surface. A lightweight child who sleeps on their side may feel a little too much pressure at the shoulder and hip, even with the pillowtop. For them, a softer single may be kinder.
Is a UK single long enough for a tall adult?
The UK single is 190cm long, the same length as the UK small double and UK double. If you're tall and your feet reach the end, the UK king adds 10cm of length. We suggest a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.

The UK single is 30cm narrower than the UK small double and the same length. If you sleep fairly still and your room is compact, the UK single is enough. If you sprawl or turn a lot, the extra width helps. We suggest at least 2.4m x 2.8m for the UK small double.
Is this mattress a good single for a teenager who gets too hot at night?
Yes, if they like a firm bed. The cool-to-touch fabric gives an immediate chill, and the breathable foam lets heat escape rather than build up under them. A teenager who wants a soft, sink-in feel would be better with a softer mattress, because the cooling doesn't change how firm this one is.
