Layer Details
- Luxurious Damask cover. A traditional woven Damask cover on the sleep surface. It gives a classic, durable finish rather than a stretchy knitted feel.
- Deep woollen tufted finish. Tufting anchors the fillings in place so they can't shift or bunch over time. You'll feel the tuft buttons slightly, which adds to the firmer surface feel.
- British wool & silk comfort layer. Wool and silk sit near the surface, which means natural temperature regulation, warmer in winter and cooler in summer. Wool also wicks away moisture while you sleep.
- Polycotton comfort layer. A polycotton layer adds a further cushioning stage beneath the natural fillings. It helps smooth the transition down to the firmer support below.
- High density support layer. A dense layer that reinforces the overall firm feel. This is where the mattress gets its solid, supportive character.
- Caliber edge side support. Reinforced sides that keep the perimeter stable when you sit or sleep near the edge. Useful if you share a bed and need the full width.

- Edges you can actually sleep on: Sharing a UK double puts you closer to the sides, and Caliber edge support keeps the perimeter firm, which means you won't feel as though you're drifting off the edge.
- Less disturbance at close quarters: The 1,200 pocket springs move independently, so a partner turning over is felt less, which helps on a UK double where you lie nearer each other than on a UK king.
- Cooler for two: Two people in 135cm of width build up warmth, and the British wool and silk layer draws heat and moisture away, so shared nights feel a little less stuffy.
- Space left for the rest of the room: At 135 x 190cm, a UK double usually leaves room for a bedside table on each side in rooms around our suggested minimum of 2.6m x 2.8m.
- Bedding that's easy to find: Standard double sheets and a 200 x 200cm double duvet fit a UK double, so dressing the bed needs nothing specialist.
This size suits you if...
You share a bed every night in a typical UK bedroom and want firm, natural-filled support without a UK king swallowing the floor space, or you're kitting out a guest room where visiting couples need a proper shared bed rather than a squeeze.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is under 2.6m x 2.8m, or you and your partner already feel cramped at 67.5cm each. We'd recommend the UK king instead, provided you have at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Campaign for Wool Luxe 1200 UK double wide enough for two people?
A UK double gives 67.5cm each, which most couples find comfortable. The firm build and Caliber edge support mean you can use the full width without the sides sagging. If one of you sleeps spread out or you're both broad-shouldered, the UK double gives 7.5cm less each than the UK king, and that gap can feel bigger than it sounds.
Will a Sleepeezee Luxe 1200 double fit in my bedroom?
We suggest a room of at least 2.6m x 2.8m for a UK double, with around 3m x 3m feeling comfortable. That usually leaves space to walk round the bed and fit a bedside table on each side, plus a wardrobe or drawers in a typical second bedroom or first flat.
How much smaller is the Luxe 1200 UK double than the UK king?
The UK double is 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter than the UK king. For two sharing, the UK double gives 7.5cm less each. In return it needs less floor space: we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double against 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Is the UK double Campaign for Wool Luxe 1200 long enough for tall sleepers?
The UK double is 190cm long, or 6ft 3in, the same length as the UK small double and UK single. Most adults fit comfortably. If you're tall enough that your feet reach the end, the UK king is 10cm longer, and that extra length is often the deciding factor for taller couples.
Will I feel my partner moving on a Sleepeezee Luxe 1200 double?
You'll feel some movement, as you do on any shared bed, but the 1,200 pocket springs respond individually rather than as one unit. That matters more on a UK double, where you lie closer together than on larger sizes. The firm feel also limits how much the surface dips when your partner shifts.
