Layer Details
- Cool-touch knitted cover. A knitted cover with a cool-touch finish, which means the surface feels cooler when you first lie down. Helpful if you're a warm sleeper.
- Pillow top: soft comfort layer. A soft layer at the top of the pillow top that provides the initial cushioning you feel when you get into bed.
- Pillow top: high-density support layer. A denser layer beneath the soft one, which means the cushioning doesn't collapse under your weight. It keeps the pillow top feeling supportive rather than saggy.
- Pillow top: memory foam. Memory foam moulds to your shape, easing pressure at the shoulders and hips. This is part of what softens the firm feel at the surface.
- Pillow top: Dreamzone profiled body-contouring gel foam. A profiled gel foam that contours to your body, which means support follows your shape rather than pushing back uniformly. The gel element also helps with heat.
- Pillow top: mini springs. Small springs within the pillow top add responsiveness, so the surface springs back quickly when you move. This makes changing position easier than on all-foam tops.
- Core: traditional pocket springs. Individually wrapped springs that move independently, which means less motion transfer to your partner and support tailored to where your body needs it.
- Core: mini springs. A second layer of mini springs in the core adds a finer level of responsiveness beneath the main pocket springs.
- Core: high-density support layer. A firm base layer that anchors the whole mattress, giving the springs a stable foundation and helping edge-to-edge durability.

- 90cm each when you share: Two sleepers get 90cm apiece, which means you can turn over, stretch out or sleep diagonally without ending up in your partner's half.
- A clear step up from the UK king: The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king at the same length, giving each sleeper 15cm more than the UK king's 75cm.
- Distance and independent springs together: Individually wrapped pocket springs limit how far movement travels, and the extra width means a fidgety partner's tossing has further to go before you feel it.
- Firm support right across the surface: The firm spring core runs across the whole mattress, so a child tucked into the middle lies on the same supportive base as the adults either side.
- In proportion with a large room: In a period bedroom or a generous master, a 30cm deep UK super king looks settled in the space, where a smaller bed can look a little lost.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed with a genuinely restless partner and want real distance between you, children or a large dog regularly end up in the bed by morning, and your bedroom comfortably clears our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of 3m x 2.9m, or you rarely need the extra width. We'd recommend the UK king instead, and we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for that size.

Is the Sleepeezee SensaGel 4000 super king big enough for two adults and a child?
For occasional night visits, usually yes. Two adults get 90cm each, and a small child can settle in the middle on the same firm sprung support. If a child joins you most nights, the UK super king is the size to choose on this mattress, as the UK king gives each adult 75cm and the middle fills up quickly.
How much bigger is the SensaGel 4000 super king than the king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length. When you share, you each get 15cm more than the 75cm per person the UK king offers. The UK super king needs more floor space: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, against 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Will a restless partner wake me on a super king SensaGel 4000?
You're less likely to notice them. The pocket springs move independently, which reduces how much movement crosses the bed, and the 90cm each gives a fidgety sleeper room to shift without reaching your side. No mattress removes motion completely, but on this firm hybrid, distance does a lot of the work.
Can a SensaGel 4000 super king fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
It can, provided the usable floor meets our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m. In a loft, the slope of the ceiling tends to decide which wall the headboard goes against. Remember the mattress is 30cm deep, so check you can sit up comfortably on the lower side before committing to this size.
Is the super king SensaGel 4000 a good size if my dog sleeps on the bed?
If a large dog shares your bed as a matter of routine, the UK super king makes sense. At 180cm wide, there is room for the dog at the foot or between you without either person losing their 90cm. The firm feel also means the surface is less likely to dip where the dog curls up.
