- Cover. A graphite cool cover with graphene, which means heat is drawn away from your body rather than trapped at the surface. Hot sleepers should notice the difference most.
- Gel layer. StaycoolTM Gel provides body-sensitive pressure relief while keeping the sleep surface cool. It cushions shoulders and hips without the warmth some foams build up.
- Support layer. A high-density support layer sits beneath the gel, adding structure. This is where much of the firm, supportive feel comes from.
- Springs. Pocket springs at the base move independently, so your partner's tossing is less likely to disturb you. The king size uses 1,000 springs; other sizes aren't detailed.

- Fits a typical shared bedroom: We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double, so it suits the average British bedroom without the bed swallowing the floor.
- Cooler when sharing: Two sleepers on 67.5cm each build up more heat, and the graphite cover with graphene draws that warmth away rather than letting it settle.
- Less disturbance from your partner: The pocket springs move independently, which means a restless partner is less likely to wake you, and that matters more on a double than on wider sizes.
- Firm support edge to edge: The high-density support layer keeps the firm feel consistent, so neither of you rolls into a dip in the middle.
- Room left for furniture: At 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, the UK double usually leaves space for a bedside table on each side and a wardrobe door that opens fully.
This size suits you if...
You share a bed in an average-sized bedroom and want room for bedside tables on both sides, you both sleep warm and prefer a firm surface, or you're setting up a guest room where visiting couples will stay for a few nights.
Consider another size if...
You and your partner already feel cramped at 67.5cm each or want more legroom. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which gives 75cm each; allow at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

How much space does each person get on a SmartTemp Ortho UK double?
The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing. That suits many couples, although it's a little close if one of you sprawls. The UK king gives 75cm each, so sizing up adds 7.5cm per person, and the independent pocket springs help limit how much you feel each other move.
Will the Sleepeezee SmartTemp Ortho double fit in my bedroom?
We suggest allowing at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double, with around 3m x 3m the more comfortable norm. That covers most main bedrooms and many second bedrooms, and usually leaves space for bedside tables either side.
What are the SmartTemp Ortho double dimensions in feet?
The UK double measures 4ft 6in x 6ft 3in, or 135 x 190cm. Like every size of this mattress, it's 25cm deep, so check your fitted sheets have deep enough pockets.
Is the SmartTemp Ortho UK double long enough for tall sleepers?
The UK double is 190cm long. If either of you finds your feet reaching the end, the UK king and UK super king are both 10cm longer, although the UK king needs a larger room: we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m.
Should couples choose the SmartTemp Ortho in a double or a super king?
The UK super king is 45cm wider and 10cm longer, giving 90cm each, which is 22.5cm more per person than the UK double. It needs far more floor space, though: allow at least 3m x 2.9m. If your room is tighter, the UK double keeps the bedroom usable.
