Layer Details
- Pillow top. A soft, cloud-like pillow top sewn onto the surface, which means you get a plush, cushioned feel the moment you lie down. It softens the medium-firm tension underneath without undermining it.
- Wool layers. Two layers of wool from Romney sheep, a breed native to Kent. Wool breathes and wicks moisture, which helps keep you at a steadier temperature through the night.
- Pocket springs. Individually pocketed springs that respond to your shape and movements. Because each spring moves on its own, you get support where you press down and less disturbance when a partner shifts.
- Nano springs. A layer of 1,000 smaller nano springs that contour more closely to your body. They fine-tune the support from the main springs, particularly around shoulders and hips.
Layer details from featherandblack.com product page, September 2026.
- More room each: At 75cm per sleeper against 67.5cm on a UK double, you have a little more space to turn over without ending up on your partner's side.
- Quieter early starts: Individually pocketed springs respond separately, so when one of you gets up before dawn, the other should feel less of the movement across the UK king.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: The UK king is 10cm longer than a UK double, so feet stay on the mattress rather than hanging over the end.
- Space to shift position: If pregnancy or a sore back has you propping pillows and changing position through the night, the wider UK king gives you room without crowding your partner.
- Softer surface, firm base: The pillow top cushions you across the whole 150cm width, while the medium-firm springs underneath keep both sleepers supported.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel cramped, one of you leaves for work hours before the other wakes, or a tall partner needs the 200cm length more than extra width.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested minimum of 2.7m x 2.9m. We'd recommend the UK double instead, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for that size.

Will I feel my partner move on a Sleepeezee Thames UK king?
You should feel less than on a narrower bed. Each pocket spring moves on its own, and the UK king gives you 75cm each, 7.5cm more than a UK double. The pillow top is one continuous surface, so a restless partner may still register slightly, but the extra width puts a little more distance between you.
Is the Sleepeezee Thames UK king long enough if you're tall?
At 200cm (6ft 6in), the UK king is 10cm longer than a UK double, which helps anyone approaching 6ft. The UK super king is the same length, so if length is your main concern, sizing up beyond the UK king adds width only.
Sleepeezee Thames UK king or UK super king for a couple?
The UK super king gives 90cm each, so the UK king gives 15cm less per person. If you sleep in a starfish position or the dog joins you most nights, the UK super king may suit you better. It needs more floor space, though: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m, against 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
Is upgrading from a double to a Thames UK king worth it?
For most couples, yes. You gain 15cm of width and 10cm of length, which means 7.5cm more each and room for taller sleepers. The catch is floor space: the UK king needs a room of at least 2.7m x 2.9m by our guidance, and 3.2m x 3.2m feels comfortable once furniture is in.
