- Luxurious Damask cover. A traditional woven Damask cover, which feels more substantial than the stretchy knitted covers on many modern mattresses. It gives the surface a classic, durable finish.
- Deep woollen tufted finish. Tufting holds the fillings firmly in place, which means the surface stays even over the years rather than shifting or lumping. It also gives that slightly dimpled, traditional look.
- British wool & silk comfort layer. 100% British wool and silk sit directly beneath the surface, which means natural temperature regulation: warmer in winter, cooler in summer. If you're a hot sleeper, this is the layer doing the work.
- Polycotton comfort layer. A polycotton layer adds a second level of cushioning beneath the wool and silk. It softens the transition to the springs slightly without undermining the firm feel.
- High density support layer. A dense supportive layer sits above the springs to keep your spine aligned. This is where the firm tension comes from, so expect support rather than sink.
- Caliber edge side support. Reinforced edge support means the sides don't collapse when you sit on the bed or sleep near the edge. It effectively gives you the full width of the mattress to use.

- Room to spread out alone: At 30cm wider than a UK single, you can sleep diagonally or starfish on a firm, even surface without an arm hanging off the side.
- Fits tighter bedrooms: Being 15cm narrower than a UK double, it can leave you enough floor to open a wardrobe or door, and we suggest allowing at least 2.4m x 2.8m.
- Usable edges on a narrower bed: The Caliber edge support keeps the sides firm, which matters more on a 120cm width because you will sleep close to the edge more often.
- Firm support for one: The firm tension suits a single back or front sleeper, although a lightweight side sleeper may find it a little unforgiving at the shoulder.
- Cooler sleep in a small room: The wool and silk layer breathes better than foam, which helps in a snug box room or loft conversion where warm air tends to collect.
This size suits you if...
You sleep alone and want space to stretch out, your room cannot comfortably take a UK double, or you are furnishing a guest room where couples stay now and then rather than every night.
Consider another size if...
You share a bed every night, as the UK small double is best kept for occasional couple use. We'd recommend the UK double instead, which gives 67.5cm each and needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Sleepeezee Wool Luxe 1200 small double big enough for two?
For the odd weekend, yes, and the firm edges help you use the full width. For nightly sharing it gets cramped quickly. If two of you sleep together most nights, the UK double gives 67.5cm each, which is a noticeable step up for the same 190cm length.
What room size do I need for a Wool Luxe 1200 small double?
We suggest a bedroom of at least 2.4m x 2.8m for a UK small double. That leaves space to walk around the bed and open doors. If your room is below that, the UK single needs at least 2.1m x 2.8m and is 30cm narrower.
Should I get the Wool Luxe 1200 in a small double or a double?
Both are 190cm long, so the choice is purely about width. The UK small double is 15cm narrower, which suits a solo sleeper or a tight room. Choose the UK double if you share nightly and your room allows at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
Is a 4ft small double a good upgrade for a teenager outgrowing a single?
It often is. A teenager gains 30cm of width over a UK single with no extra length to fit, so the bed takes up only a little more of the room. The firm feel suits growing back and front sleepers, although a slim side sleeper may prefer something softer.
Will a small double fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
At 120cm wide, the UK small double can leave standing room beside the bed where a sloping ceiling rules out a wider frame. Measure the floor where you can stand upright, not the full room. The breathable wool layer also helps in lofts, which can run warm.
