- Pillow Top. A plush stitched-in pillow top filled with wool, cotton and cashmere, which means a soft, cushioned surface without needing a separate topper. The natural fibres also help regulate temperature, useful if you tend to sleep warm.
- Pocket Springs. Up to 5,000 pocket springs that move independently of one another, which means support is targeted to your pressure points rather than spread evenly. It also helps limit motion transfer, so a restless partner is less likely to wake you.
Layer details from mattressnextday.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- More room each than a double: The UK king gives 7.5cm more each than the UK double, enough that an elbow or knee is less likely to end up on your partner's side.
- Extra length for tall sleepers: At 200cm, the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, so someone over six foot can stretch out without their feet hanging off the end.
- Less disturbance from early risers: The pocket springs move independently, which means that if one of you gets up hours before the other, the mattress on the sleeping side stays largely still.
- Softer surface across the full width: The wool, cotton and cashmere pillow top covers the whole 150cm, so neither of you is left on a firmer strip or pushed towards a seam.
- Space to change position: If you use extra pillows to prop yourself up, perhaps during pregnancy or while recovering, 75cm each leaves room to arrange them without spilling onto your partner's half.
- Fits a room a super king won't: We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king, which leaves more floor free than the UK super king in a bedroom with fitted wardrobes.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and wake each other up on a double, one of you is tall enough that the extra 10cm of length makes a real difference, or you keep different hours and want the early riser to slip out without disturbing the other.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m. We'd recommend the UK double instead, for which we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

How much space does each person get on a UK king Serenity 5000?
Two people sharing the UK king get 75cm each. That is 7.5cm more each than the UK double and 15cm less each than the UK super king, so it sits in the middle for couples who want more room without taking over the bedroom.
Is the Serenity 5000 UK king long enough for someone over 6ft?
The UK king is 200cm long, 10cm longer than the UK double, the UK small double and the UK single. If one of you is over six foot, that extra length is often the main reason to move up from a double, even before the extra width.
Will I feel my partner move on the Serenity 5000 in a king size?
The pocket springs move independently, so pressure on one side is less likely to travel across the mattress. With 75cm each on the UK king, you also have more of a gap between you than on a UK double, which helps if you keep different sleeping hours.
Should we get the Serenity 5000 in a king or a super king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider but the same 200cm length, and gives 15cm more each. It needs more space: we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for the UK super king, against 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king. If your room is tight once wardrobes are in, the UK king is the easier fit.
What size is the Serenity 5000 UK king in feet?
The UK king measures 150 x 200cm, which is 5ft x 6ft 6in. For the room, we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m, with 3.2m x 3.2m giving comfortable space to walk around the bed. You can compare current prices from the retailers listed on this page.
