Layer Details
- Pillow top. A 10cm pillow top containing two micro spring layers, real Shetland wool, Airstream Memory Wool and Cocolok. This is where the soft, cushioned feel comes from, with the micro springs adding a little responsiveness so you don't feel stuck.
- Main spring core. 1,326 hand-nested, six-coil vanadium steel pocket springs in the king size. Because each spring is pocketed individually, the mattress contours to your shape and limits motion transfer from a partner.
- Fillings. British wool and British cotton fillings surround the spring core. These natural fibres wick moisture and help regulate temperature through the night.

- Room to lie apart: At 75cm each for two sharing, you get 7.5cm more personal space than a UK double, which means fewer nudged elbows and less tugging at the duvet.
- Calmer nights with an early riser: The 1,326 individually pocketed springs in the UK king move on their own, so a partner leaving before dawn is less likely to jolt you awake.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, or 6ft 6in, the UK king adds 10cm over a UK double, which means a partner over six foot can stretch out without heels hanging off the end.
- A soft zone on each side: The 10cm pillow top lets each of you sink in where your own hips and shoulders press, and the king width keeps two dips from meeting in the middle.
- Space for a dog as well as two people: If the dog sleeps on the bed most nights, the extra 15cm over a UK double means it can curl up at the foot without pushing either of you towards the edge.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and have outgrown a UK double, one of you is tall enough to find 190cm a little short, and you both genuinely prefer a soft, sink-in surface to a firm one.
Consider another size if...
You prefer a firm or medium feel, or your bedroom falls short of our suggested minimum of 2.7m x 2.9m. The Baroness is listed in UK king only, so there is no smaller size to switch to.

Is the Vispring Baroness UK king big enough for two people?
For most couples, yes. A UK king gives 75cm each for two sharing, which is 7.5cm more per person than a UK double. That is enough for each of you to turn over without rolling into the other. If one of you sprawls or sleeps diagonally, it can still feel a little snug.
Is a UK king Vispring Baroness long enough for tall people?
A UK king measures 200cm long, or 6ft 6in, which is 10cm longer than a UK double. For a partner over six foot, that extra length often matters more than the width. The soft pillow top also means you sink slightly, so your feet sit a touch lower than on a firm surface.
Will I feel my partner moving on a soft Vispring king mattress?
The Baroness in a UK king has 1,326 pocket springs, each wrapped separately, which limits how far movement travels across the bed. Soft mattresses can let you feel a partner settling a little more than firm ones do, but the king width puts more distance between you than a UK double.
Will a Vispring Baroness king fit in a new build master bedroom?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable. New build master bedrooms often shrink once fitted wardrobes go in, so measure from the wardrobe doors, not the walls, and leave room to open them fully with the bed in place.
Is the Baroness king a good choice if my partner is much heavier than me?
It depends on your partner. Heavier sleepers may find this soft mattress lets their hips sink too far. The UK king width does help, as each of you gets 75cm, so a deeper dip on one side is less likely to roll a lighter partner towards the middle.
