- Cover. A fine quality ticking covers the mattress. This is the woven outer fabric you'll actually lie on.
- Fillings. Horsehair sits alongside bonded and blended British fleece wool and cotton. These natural fibres breathe and manage moisture well, which means less overheating than you'd get from foam.
- Springs. The king size contains 1,326 vanadium steel pocket springs, each with six turns and held in a calico pocket. More turns per spring gives a softer, more progressive response, so the mattress cushions rather than resists.

- 90cm of your own: Each of you gets 90cm of width, so a partner's turning happens further away and the independently moving pocket springs have more distance to absorb it before it reaches you.
- Room when the family climbs in: When a child arrives at 3am or the dog settles by your feet, 180cm of width means everyone still gets a share of the soft surface, not a strip of edge.
- 15cm more each than a UK king: The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king but the same length, which gives each sharer 15cm more width at no cost to legroom.
- In proportion with a large room: In a period property or a generous master bedroom, the 6ft x 6ft 6in footprint sits comfortably in the space where a UK king can look slightly lost.
- Plan a loft conversion carefully: In a loft conversion the sloping ceiling usually decides which wall takes the bed, so check headroom along the full 200cm length as well as the 180cm width.
This size suits you if...
You share with a partner whose tossing and turning keeps waking you, or small children and a large dog regularly end up in the bed with you, and your bedroom clears our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your room is below our suggested 3m x 2.9m, or a tight door swing or landing turn makes a 180cm-wide bed awkward. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is a UK super king Vispring Baronet Superb Soft big enough for two adults and a child?
For occasional visits, yes. The UK super king gives two adults 90cm each, the width of a UK single apiece, so a small child tucked in the middle still leaves both of you usable space. If a child sleeps in with you most nights, this is the size we'd point you to within this range.
Vispring Baronet Superb Soft UK super king vs UK king: how much extra space do you get?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and both are 200cm long. Shared between two, that works out as 15cm more width each. You gain no legroom by sizing up, so choose the UK super king for elbow room and distance from a partner, not height.
Does a soft mattress suit a restless partner in a super king size?
Distance helps more than anything. The Soft tension lets the surface give under a shoulder or hip, and the pocket springs move independently, so movement stays fairly local. In a UK super king, with 90cm each, a partner who turns often is simply further away, which a narrower bed cannot offer.
Will a UK super king Vispring Baronet fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
It can, but the sloping ceiling tends to decide where it goes. Check that the full 180 x 200cm footprint sits under enough headroom to sit up in bed, and that you can walk round it. We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m of usable floor, measured where you can stand.
Is the Vispring Baronet Superb Soft worth sizing up from a UK double to a UK super king?
If you share every night, the gain is large: the UK super king is 45cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double, giving each of you 22.5cm more width. The UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m against 3m x 2.9m here, and super king bedding, including a 260 x 220cm duvet, costs more.
