- Upholstery. Crafted entirely from natural fillings, British fleece wool, hand-teased Devonshire fleece wool and British fleece needled wool, encased in high-quality ticking, which means good breathability and a softer, more cushioned surface feel. It is hand-tufted with felt washers, a traditional technique that anchors the fillings so the mattress keeps its structure over time.
- Springs. A single layer of hand-nested calico pocket springs made from vanadium steel, with 1,326 springs in the 150 x 200cm size. Because each spring is sewn into its own pocket and nested by hand, the mattress responds to your weight point by point, which helps keep your spine aligned and limits motion transfer between partners.

- Fits compact rooms: At 3ft x 6ft 3in, the UK single leaves space for a desk, wardrobe and toy storage, and we suggest a room of at least 2.1m x 2.8m.
- Cooler sleep for one: The British fleece wool fillings breathe well, which means a teenager who runs warm, or a guest in a stuffy spare room, should sleep a little cooler than on synthetic foam.
- Pairs well in guest rooms: Two UK singles side by side let visiting friends or siblings each have their own bed, and the pocket springs respond to each sleeper's weight individually.
- Slimmer profile for raised frames: At 21cm deep plus around 6cm of doming, the Devonshire is shallower than many hybrids, which helps when a bunk or mid sleeper sets a maximum mattress depth.
- Traditional build in a small size: You get the same hand-nested vanadium steel springs and hand-tufted wool as the bigger sizes, so a single bed feels just as considered.
This size suits you if...
You sleep alone and want natural fillings rather than foam, your child or teenager has a smaller bedroom that has to hold a desk and storage too, or you are furnishing a spare room with two separate beds for guests.
Consider another size if...
You share the bed with a partner or want room to spread out. The UK small double would suit you better: it is 30cm wider, and we suggest at least 2.4m x 2.8m.

Can the Vispring Devonshire UK single go on a bunk bed or mid sleeper?
It may, but check first. The Devonshire is 21cm deep plus around 6cm of doming, and raised frames usually set a maximum mattress depth so the guard rail stays high enough. Look up your frame maker's limit before ordering. The slimmer build helps here, although the doming needs counting too.
What size bedroom do I need for a Vispring Devonshire single?
We suggest allowing at least 2.1m x 2.8m of floor space for a UK single at 90 x 190cm. That leaves room to walk round the bed and open a wardrobe, which is useful in a box room or a child's bedroom that also needs a desk.
Is the Vispring Devonshire single long enough for a tall adult?
The UK single is 190cm long, or 6ft 3in. The UK small double and UK double are exactly the same length, so sizing up to either adds width only. If you need extra length, the UK king and UK super king are each 10cm longer than the UK single.
Should I buy two Vispring Devonshire singles or one double for a guest room?
Two UK singles suit guests who sleep separately, such as friends, siblings or children. For couples visiting together, a UK double makes more sense, giving 67.5cm each for two sharing, and we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m of floor space for a UK double.
Is a Vispring Devonshire UK single worth it for a child's bed?
It depends on how long the bed will be used. Younger children often move up to a bigger size or a raised frame within a few years, so a premium mattress may be outgrown first. For a teenager staying in a UK single, the wool fillings and hand-tufted build make more sense.
