Layer Details
- Surface upholstery. Blended British fleece wool and cotton sit directly beneath the ticking, which means a naturally soft, breathable sleeping surface. Wool also helps manage moisture and temperature through the night.
- Comfort layer. A layer of bonded wool provides consistent comfort throughout the night. Bonding the wool helps the filling keep its shape rather than settling unevenly.
- Spring system. A hand-nested calico pocket spring unit with 1,254 vanadium steel springs in a single layer, a count specified for the King size. Each spring works independently, which means balanced support and less disturbance when a partner moves.
Layer details from vispring.com product page, September 2026.
- More room each than a double: The UK king gives you 7.5cm more width each than the UK double, which means a little more breathing space between you on a medium-firm surface.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm long, the UK king adds 10cm over the UK double, so a partner around six foot can stretch out without their feet pressing against the footboard.
- Spring count set for this size: Vispring specifies 1,254 vanadium steel springs for the UK king, each in its own calico pocket, which means your side responds separately from your partner's.
- Cooler with two bodies sharing: The wool and cotton surface breathes well, which helps when two people generate heat under one duvet across a mattress this wide.
- Room demands stay manageable: Yes, the UK king needs more floor than a double, but we suggest 2.7m x 2.9m, noticeably less than the 3m x 2.9m we'd allow for the UK super king.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and one of you is up and out of the door hours before the other wakes, or one partner is tall enough that a UK double leaves their feet near the edge.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom falls short of our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m once wardrobes and drawers are in. We'd recommend the UK double instead, for which we suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Vispring Elite UK king long enough for someone over 6ft?
The UK king is 200cm long, or 6ft 6in, which is 10cm longer than the UK double. For a partner over six foot, that extra length is often the bigger improvement, since it gives room for a pillow at the top and your feet at the bottom. The UK super king is the same length, so sizing up adds width only.
Will I feel my partner getting up on a Vispring Elite UK king?
Less than on many mattresses. Vispring specifies 1,254 individually pocketed springs for the UK king, and each one moves independently, which limits how far movement travels. You also have 75cm each, so there is a small gap between you. Across a medium-firm surface you may still notice a heavier partner shifting, but it should feel slight.
Vispring Elite UK king or UK super king for a couple?
The UK super king gives 90cm each for two sharing, 15cm more per person than the UK king, but we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m of floor for it. The UK king needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m. If your room clears the larger figure and you want real separation, the UK super king suits you. Otherwise the UK king is the sensible upgrade.
How much bigger is the Vispring Elite king than the double?
The UK king is 15cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double. Shared between two, that works out as 7.5cm more width each, taking you from 67.5cm to 75cm per person. That may sound modest on paper, but on a mattress with independent springs, a few extra centimetres between you can make movement from your partner a little less noticeable.
Will a Vispring Elite UK king fit a new build master bedroom?
Possibly, but measure after the fitted wardrobes are in, because they can take a surprising amount of floor. We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king, with 3.2m x 3.2m feeling comfortable. If you fall short, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m and may leave you room to open doors and drawers freely.
