Layer Details
- British fleece wool. A layer of British fleece wool sits at the surface, which means added warmth and a soft, breathable feel against the sleeping surface. Wool also wicks moisture, helping the mattress stay fresh.
- Hand-teased horsetail and Devonshire wool. Hand-teased horsetail blended with Devonshire wool gives a soft yet supportive surface. Horsetail is a traditional upholstery fibre prized for resilience, so this layer keeps its shape over time rather than compressing flat.
- British fleece wool. A second layer of British fleece wool cushions the transition between the upholstery and the springs. It adds a little extra softness and insulation above the spring unit.
- Pocket springs. A two-layer, hand-nested calico pocket spring construction with 2,030 vanadium steel springs in the 150 x 200cm size. Hand-nesting lets the springs work independently, which means support that follows your shape and less motion transfer to a partner.

- The most room this mattress offers: The Kingsbridge comes in UK king and UK super king only, so the UK super king is the size to choose if sleeping space matters above everything else.
- Distance from a restless partner: At 90cm each, a partner who turns all night sits noticeably further away, and the hand-nested springs move independently, which means less of that movement reaches you.
- Space when the family piles in: If a small child wanders in at 3am or a large dog sleeps at your feet, the UK super king leaves the adults a proper share of the mattress.
- A firm surface across the full width: The Firm and Extra Firm tensions keep the whole surface supportive right to the edges, which suits back sleepers and heavier sleepers who spread out across a wide bed.
- In proportion with a large bedroom: In a period property or a spacious master bedroom, a full 6ft x 6ft 6in bed looks settled in the room, where a UK king can look slightly small.
This size suits you if...
You share with a partner who tosses and turns and you want as much space between you as possible, or children and pets regularly join you in the night. It also suits you if your bedroom comfortably clears our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than our suggested 3m x 2.9m, or the bed has to fit around a sloping loft ceiling. We'd recommend the UK king instead, which needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the UK super king the largest size of the Vispring Kingsbridge?
Yes. The Kingsbridge is only made in UK king and UK super king, so the UK super king at 180 x 200cm is the biggest you can buy. If you need even more space, you would have to look at a different mattress, because this model stops at 6ft wide.
How much extra room does the Kingsbridge UK super king give over the UK king?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two sizes are the same length. For two people sharing, that works out at 90cm each on the UK super king against 75cm each on the UK king, so you gain 15cm more each. You gain width, never length.
Is a Vispring Kingsbridge super king big enough for two adults and a child?
For occasional night visits, the UK super king is the size in this range that leaves the adults the most room. A small child still takes up some of your 90cm each, so expect to feel it, although the firm surface means nobody sinks towards the middle.
Will a Kingsbridge super king help if my partner is a restless sleeper?
It should help on two fronts. The hand-nested pocket springs work independently, which limits how much movement travels across the bed, and the UK super king adds physical distance with 90cm each. With a genuinely restless partner, that distance often makes the bigger difference of the two.
Will the Vispring Kingsbridge super king fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
It can, as long as the floor space clears our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m and the bed can sit against a full-height wall so you are not climbing out under the slope. Check the stair turns and landing too, because this 23cm-deep mattress at 180cm wide is a large item to carry up.
