Layer Details
- British fleece wool. A top layer of British fleece wool, which means natural warmth and a soft, breathable sleeping surface.
- Hand-teased horsetail and Devonshire wool. Hand-teased horsetail blended with Devonshire wool. Horsetail is springy and breathable, so the surface feels soft without collapsing under you.
- British fleece wool. A second layer of British fleece wool sits between the fillings and the springs, adding cushioning depth.
- Pocket springs. A two layer hand-nested calico pocket spring construction, with 2,030 vanadium steel springs in the 150 x 200cm size. Each spring moves independently, which means support that follows your shape and less disturbance from a partner.
Layer details from vispring.com product page, September 2026.
- More room each than a double: You get 75cm each, which is 7.5cm more per person than the UK double, so elbows and knees meet less often during the night.
- Quieter nights for early risers: The springs sit in individual calico pockets and move on their own, which means a partner leaving before dawn is less likely to jolt you awake.
- Length for taller sleepers: At 200cm the UK king is 10cm longer than the UK double, which matters if one of you is over six foot and your feet currently hang off the end.
- Soft support across a wider surface: The medium-soft wool and horsetail top gives each sleeper cushioning at the shoulder and hip, so two side sleepers can settle without competing for the comfortable middle.
- Space for pillows and repositioning: During pregnancy or the months after, the extra width leaves room for a support pillow on one side without pushing your partner towards the edge.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and are tired of brushing against each other on a UK double, your partner rises or comes to bed at a different hour and you want less disturbance, or one of you is tall enough that the extra 10cm of length makes a real difference.
Consider another size if...
Your room is smaller than our suggested 2.7m x 2.9m. For a compact room, we'd recommend the UK double instead, which needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.

Is the Vispring Kingsbridge Soft UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
The UK king is 200cm long (6ft 6in), which is 10cm longer than the UK double. If one of you is approaching or over six foot, that extra length means your feet stay on the mattress. The UK super king is the same length, so sizing up beyond the UK king adds width but no extra length.
How much space per person on a Vispring Kingsbridge king?
Two people sharing the UK king get 75cm each. The UK double gives 67.5cm each, so the UK king adds 7.5cm per sleeper. The UK super king gives 90cm each, which is 15cm more per person than the UK king, although that needs a larger room.
Will I feel my partner move on a soft Vispring in a UK king?
Across a 150cm-wide surface, the individually pocketed springs respond separately, which means movement on one side travels less to the other. The soft tension does let you sink in a little more, so on a narrower bed you would roll towards each other more readily. The extra width of the UK king reduces that.
What room size do I need for a Vispring Kingsbridge UK king?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m for a UK king. New build master bedrooms can feel smaller once fitted wardrobes are in, so measure the usable floor space rather than the room's listed dimensions. If you are short of space, the UK double needs at least 2.6m x 2.8m.
Should couples choose the UK king or UK super king Kingsbridge Soft?
The UK king gives 75cm each and the UK super king gives 90cm each, with both at 200cm long. If a dog regularly sleeps on the bed, or you both sprawl, the UK super king's extra width helps, but we suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for it. The UK king suits most couples in a standard master bedroom.
