- Upholstery. Every filling is natural: British fleece wool, hand-teased horsetail blended with real Shetland wool, silk and mohair, plus blended Shetland wool and cotton, all encased in high-quality ticking. In practice that means a breathable, temperature-regulating surface that softens with body shape rather than trapping heat the way foam can.
- Springs. Two layers of hand-nested calico pocket springs made from vanadium steel, with 2,520 springs in the 150 x 200cm size. Nesting the springs by hand in calico pockets lets each one move independently, which you feel as support that follows your shape closely.
- Borders. The borders are upholstered with protective coir and wool and finished with four rows of hand side-stitching. This stiffens the edges, so the mattress holds its shape over time and supports you when you sit or sleep near the side.

- Room to sleep apart: You get 90cm each for two people sharing, which is 15cm more each than the UK king, so a partner who turns all night is far easier to sleep through.
- Width for the whole household: When children or a large dog end up in bed with you, 180cm of width means nobody gets squeezed as badly, and the hand-stitched edges keep the outer strip usable.
- In proportion with a bigger room: In a period bedroom or a large master, a UK king can look a little undersized, while a UK super king at 6ft x 6ft 6in fills the space properly.
- Same length as the UK king: The UK super king and the UK king are the same length, so moving up to the UK super king buys you 30cm of extra width rather than extra length.
- Soft cushioning with space around it: The Soft tension lets you sink in where you're heavier, and on a bed this wide each lighter sleeper keeps their own area of that cushioned feel.

You share with a partner who tosses and turns and want 90cm each to yourself, children or a dog regularly join you during the night, or your bedroom comfortably clears our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than 3m x 2.9m, or a tight door swing or landing turn makes a 180cm mattress impractical. We'd recommend the UK king instead, for which we suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Vispring Sublime Superb super king big enough for a restless partner?
It's the widest size this mattress comes in, giving 90cm each for two people sharing. Distance helps with a restless partner more than any filling can. The pocket springs also move independently, so movement on one side stays largely on that side. If your partner is a very heavy mover, the extra width is the part that makes the difference.

The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king and the same length, giving 15cm more each for two people sharing. Choose the UK super king if you share with children, a dog or a restless partner and your room allows at least 3m x 2.9m. We suggest at least 2.7m x 2.9m for the UK king.
How much more room does the super king give than a double?
The UK super king is 45cm wider and 10cm longer than the UK double. The UK double gives 67.5cm each for two people sharing, so the UK super king gives 22.5cm more each. That is a big jump for couples coming from a double. We suggest at least 2.6m x 2.8m for the UK double, against 3m x 2.9m here.
Is a soft Vispring super king good for co-sleeping with children?
The width helps: 180cm leaves room for a small child between two adults far more easily than smaller sizes. The four rows of hand side-stitching keep the edges firm, so whoever ends up at the side still has support. If either adult is heavier, the Soft tension may feel too yielding, and one of Vispring's firmer tensions could suit you better.
Can a Vispring super king fit in a loft conversion bedroom?
Often, provided the floor allows our suggested minimum of 3m x 2.9m. The roof slope usually decides the wall: put the head end against a full-height wall so you aren't sitting up into the ceiling. Measure headroom from the mattress surface, remembering it is 23cm deep with around 6cm of doming on top.
