Layer Details
- Microquilted Cover. A micro-quilted cover with fabric stitched into the filling beneath, which gives the surface a plush, quilted feel. It makes the top of the mattress feel smooth and soft from the first night.
- Soft White Fibres. Soft synthetic fillings that add a cosy layer of comfort just below the cover. They are durable and resilient, so they should hold their shape over time rather than flattening quickly.
- Memory Foam. Memory foam cradles to your shape, which means pressure points like hips and shoulders get a cushioned, contoured feel. It is what gives the mattress its sumptuous, sink-in comfort.
- Pocket Springs. 1000 pocket springs made from sturdy steel, curved to provide bounce. Each spring sits in its own fabric casing and moves independently, so your partner's movements are less likely to disturb you.

- Space for two different routines: If one of you gets up hours before the other, 75cm each for two people sharing plus independently moving pocket springs makes that early exit easier to sleep through.
- Extra length for taller sleepers: At 5ft x 6ft 6in, the UK king adds 10cm of length over the UK double, which taller sleepers feel at their feet every night.
- Memory foam without the wallow: The memory foam layer cushions hips and shoulders while the spring base gives push-back, useful across a wider bed where you settle into your own space rather than rolling together.
- Room for pregnancy and pillows: Propping pillows and shifting position through the night takes width, and the UK king gives you 15cm more of it than the UK double.
- Fits most master bedrooms: We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m, which most UK master bedrooms can manage once wardrobes and bedside tables are accounted for.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and a UK double has started to feel tight, especially if one of you moves a lot or keeps different hours. Or you're taller and the 200cm length matters more to you than the width. It also suits couples expecting a baby, when extra room for pillows and position changes makes the nights easier.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 2.7m x 2.9m we suggest for a UK king. In that case the UK double, 15cm narrower and 10cm shorter, would suit you better; allow at least 2.6m x 2.8m for it.

Is the Bodyshape Boost 1000 in a UK king good for couples?
Yes, and it is the size we would point most couples towards. You get 75cm each for two people sharing, and the 1000 pocket springs move independently, so a partner turning over or leaving early is less likely to wake you. The medium firm feel suits back and side sleepers in particular.
What room size do I need for the Bodyshape Boost 1000 UK king?
We suggest allowing at least 2.7m x 2.9m so you can walk round the bed and open drawers comfortably. New build master bedrooms can be tighter than they look once fitted wardrobes go in, so measure the usable floor space rather than the room itself before committing.
Is a UK king long enough for someone over six foot?
At 200cm (6ft 6in) it gives most tall sleepers comfortable clearance, and it is 10cm longer than the UK double. If length is your main reason for upgrading, the UK king delivers it without demanding the floor space of the UK super king, which is the same length but 30cm wider.
Does the memory foam reduce partner disturbance in the king size?
The memory foam absorbs some movement, but the bigger factor is the pocket spring base: each spring sits in its own fabric casing and compresses on its own. Combined with the 150cm width, one of you shifting, or a dog claiming the foot of the bed, disturbs the other side far less.
