Layer Details
Bamboo Cover
A gentle bamboo fabric cover made from clean, high quality fibres with a hypoallergenic finish. That means less irritation for sensitive skin and allergy sufferers.
Soft White Fibres
A layer of soft synthetic white fibres that is notably breathable and comforting. It helps air move through the top of the mattress, which you'll feel as a slightly cooler sleep surface.
Memory Foam
A 2.5cm layer of high density memory foam that adapts around your body. It's a fairly slim layer, so expect a gentle contouring hug rather than a deep sink-in feel.
Traditional Open Coil Springs
Interlaced springs joined in a lattice design, which distribute your weight evenly to relieve built-up pressure and support spinal alignment. Because the coils are connected, movement does transfer across the bed more than it would with pocket springs.
Wire Frame Border
A wire frame around the border of the mattress. This helps the edges keep their shape over time.
Layer details from mattressonline.co.uk product page, September 2026.
- Space that offsets the springs: Open coils transfer motion more than pocket springs, so the 90cm each for two people sharing is the single best reason to pick this mattress in this size.
- Room for night-time visitors: When a child pads in at 3am, a 6ft wide bed absorbs the extra body without anyone ending up on the edge.
- Supported to the sides: The wire frame border helps the edges hold their shape, useful on a bed this wide where one sleeper often drifts towards the perimeter.
- Breathable on a big surface: The bamboo cover and white fibre layer let air move through the top, so a larger shared bed stays a little cooler under two bodies.
- Budget route to maximum size: Super king mattresses can get expensive quickly, and this one keeps the biggest mainstream footprint affordable; compare the retailers listed on this page for current prices.
This size suits you if...
You share the bed every night and one of you moves around a lot, since sheer distance softens the bounce this open coil design produces. It also suits you if children or a large dog regularly join you, or if you have a big master bedroom where a UK king would look undersized against the wall.
Consider another size if...
Your bedroom is smaller than the 3m x 2.9m we suggest as a minimum for a UK super king. The UK king would suit you better: it's 30cm narrower, the same length, and needs at least 2.7m x 2.9m.

Is the Bodyshape Vitality super king good for couples with a restless partner?
Arguably it's the size where this mattress makes most sense for couples. The interlaced open coil springs transfer movement across the bed, and owners do mention feeling a partner's bounce. With 90cm each for two people sharing, most of that movement happens too far away to wake you.
Will the super king Bodyshape Vitality fit in a 3m wide bedroom?
Just about. We suggest at least 3m x 2.9m for a UK super king, which leaves walking room either side but little else. Around 3.5m x 3.2m feels more comfortable, with space for bedside tables on both sides. Measure your door swing too; it bites at this size.
How much bigger is the super king than the king in this mattress?
The UK super king is 30cm wider than the UK king, and the two are the same length at 200cm. That extra width is roughly a bedside table's worth, and on a motion-transferring open coil mattress like this one, it's the difference between feeling a partner turn over and sleeping through it.
Is this super king big enough to share with children or pets?
At 180 x 200cm, or 6ft x 6ft 6in, it's the largest size stocked as standard in the UK, so yes, within reason. A child or dog joining two adults still leaves everyone a workable share. Do expect to feel them climb in, since the connected coils pass movement along.
Where can I buy the Bodyshape Vitality Bamboo mattress in a super king?
Availability shifts, so the most reliable answer is the live price table on this page, which updates as retailers change their prices and stock. Super king is the top of Bodyshape's five-size range for this mattress, so it can sell through faster than the smaller sizes.
